USC keeps losing while Penn St finds ways to win. USC, LSU and Oklahoma are team today we compare to imo could throw Tennessee and Florida in there as well. Heck... A sub .500 team from the Pac 12 beat Wisconsin. Another terrible team from the Pac 12 beat Nebraska. Not really close games either, yet Oregon State is somehow "below average" in the Big 10. FFS the worst teams in the Pac 12 house two of the better Big Ten West teams. Get out of here with this nonsense
The only thing that salvaged this year was an elite defense. What was their reward? Consistent 3 and outs just to have go back on the field after a critical stop. It’s laughable to think anyone has an issue with Oregon St or any of those 1 or 2 loss PAC12 teams being ranked ahead of us when we fielded an offense that couldn’t win a Sun Belt Championship.

Or do bad losses only count when they are convienent for your argument? Because when it's an SEC team you love to say "they got better", but apparently when it's a team from another conference it's all "well they lost early in the year so they stink"
It's just hilarious that for one team you say they are bad because.... but then for other teams you explain away thr exact same thing because "they got better". You do it all the time.

But sure, we and the Big Ten was so awesome in 2016 that we lost to the 3rd place team in the Pac 12. That seems legit.
Also, you love to say we beat Utah in the bowl game last year. Okay great... we did. You do know they lost their starting QB early in that game to a torn ACL, right? Let's not act like they were full strength okay? It was a darn close game until that injury.
@roaminglion that’s my point about teams like Utah, our defense will get to the QB and there’s a good chance we will knock him out of the game. We dominated that game even when their starting QB was playing. When you’re play tough defenses like Penn St there’s a good chance your QB leaves the game.look how many QB’a get hurt in the big 10 and most of ‘em are limping at the end of the season.
I don’t think the ACC is all that good right now but we’ll get a better feel when the bowl games get here. IMO the PAC and big 12 are good on offense and average on defense. Probably real good on offense but they struggle when they play the heavyweights of the SEC and big 10.
How do you think the goat Joe Paterno won 409 games? It didn’t make a shit where Joe went. He’d go south, west, mid west, Deep South and stay north and take down all the big dawgs baby and he did it by playing tough ass defense with a good offense that didn’t beat you. I know it’s not fair to compare other coaches to Joe but he proved it can be done and he done it all the time. I miss the old man lol
@southern-psu-fan southern you are so full of shet sometimes and as Roam says I have to sometimes wonder if you even watched the game. The Rose Bowl was tied 14-14 at halftime and their starting QB got hurt in their first series of the second half. His injury also had nothing to do with us “getting to him” . Neither team was dominating up to that point in the game and Utah was probably the more physical team.
@southern-psu-fan what is that supposed to prove? If anything it proves you have no clue what you’re talking about again. That video shows Rising scrambling and making plays which is what he does. He scrambled for 12 yards and got tackled which hardly supports your argument of our defense getting to him and hurting him.
FYI 12 yards is a first down and the defense is supposed to keep him from accomplishing that.

@psujoe he’s a good QB and a good runner but when you run it might not end good which in this case it didn’t. We were winning 35-14 remoh and Utah scored a TD with less than a minute left in the game. He got the crap knocked out of him on that play and it knocked him out of the game.we were never going to lose that game we had the better team. It’s on espn I didn’t think it was working it just showed a bunch of numbers on my end. Maybe it was working if you seen it. It didn’t look right on my end that’s why I deleted it.
