If the B1G keeps expanding there will be little room for OOC games. Just heard on XM that the B1G has begun talks with Oregon, Washington, Cal, and Stanford regarding possible acceptance to the B1G.

No puffs (except for 1 tuneup game as Southern suggested).  The difference as I see it is that you impress nobody by beating Pitt, however, if you beat a ND, Alabama or some other OC opponent that is traditionally strong, people sit up and take notice when seeding the playoffs comes around.  Likewise, if you lose to a quality opponent it shouldn't hurt you so bad.

Yes playing the Panthers benefits them a lot more than benefitting us. They would get a huge boost in media coverage, another huge boost in exposure to recruits in the eastern half of the state which is where the best H.S. teams and recruits are and then they get the huge payday every other year when they play in front of 105,000+.They are insignificant in todays CFB world ,we owe them nothing and most PSU fans that I know that live in PA couldn't care less if we ever play the bitter sPitters ever again.

If we really have to have a rival as some of you have said, IMO MD is a much better choice because we would benefit from the hype and exposure in the DMV and kicking the crap out of the twerps every other year in their stadium would make recruits in that fertile region notice.

Michigan had the worst OOC schedule the past two years and made the playoff both times. No one cared about them playing bad to average teams. As for risking things, Oregon risked it and played Georgia. Didn't work out for them. It will mean less now that they take 12 teams in the playoff.

Auburn is "traditionally" strong, but playing them didn't do us any favors. They sucked. There are risks both ways, so I'd rather play a traditional rival. Beating up Indiana, Rutgers, and Maryland ain't doing anything for us either.
