The high frequency of hype is overly stagnant like always. 7 weeks of beatdowns only to be exposed when facing a real opponent.  Penn state beat a bunch of nobody's. Michigan will pound them into the ground.

I have to ask is it a choke when you aren't favored, ranked lower, on the road, against a team who has out recruited you every year?

Just wondering.

@roaminglion  exactly! We got beat by a better football team today. We gotta get better at QB to beat Ohio St and Michigan and it probably ain’t going to happen when we recruit QB’s that don’t fit our offense. The OL isn’t good enough to have a QB that’s not a threat with his feet every play. A QB like Allar needs a good OL and WR’s to have success and them 2 positions aren’t our strongest area and it hasn’t been for years. We’ve had great WR’s here and there but it’s not a strong position for us. 99% of teams win 10 games or less so winning 10 games isn’t nothing to complain about. It took the goat Joe Paterno and Tom Osborne 20 years to win their first NC and neither one of them had to play Ohio St and Michigan every year. Keep fighting and keep getting better and take this loss out on Indiana next week that’s all we can do. Ohio St was just better today but we get another chance when we play Michigan.

Yes it was a BS  penalty that changed the momentum of the game. Typical big 10 game playing Ohio St it’s always bad call that happens to us and it’s almost every year. Smh

A bunch of uncalled holding penalties.

IMO Allar is going to be a good QB and I believe he will be a first round draft pick and if he played for Alabama, Georgia or Ohio St you would see a kid zipping the ball all over the field. We’ve had OL problems for 10 years and recruiting a QB that like to sit in the pocket usually won’t end good. We’ve always won games with a nasty ass defense, ST, great RB’s and good but not great QB’s and WR’s. Yes we’ve had great QB’s and a few WR’s but that’s not what Penn State is known for. For every Kerry Collins we’ve had Ohio St had 3 and when we have a NFL WR on the team Ohio St has 2 or 3 that’s just the way it is. QB’s like MROB, D-Clark and McSorely are what we need Hack, Moreli and Allar probably won’t work on winning NC’s because we’re usually not good enough to put guys around these pocket QB’s constantly. Yurcich needs to understand that the big 10 ain’t the big 12 the defense at Ohio St and Michigan are to dam good to think your QB can sit back there and throw down field all day long but get a QB that can move and throw it gives the defense something else to think about.

@been-there-ii  you ever wonder why Michigan and Ohio St struggle playing outside the big 10 against good teams. It’s hard to beat ‘em when you make a play that can be a game winning play, here comes the flags brother. They don’t get the calls when it’s not big 10 Refs. It’s always been like that’s it’s their nature they can’t help it. There may have been a holding that could’ve been called but if the shoe is on the other foot they can say we didn’t call the penalty because it was away from the play.

Absolutely.  IMO that call wiping out our scoop and score was worthy of the John Oneal "the fix is in award".

Ohio State lost to Georgia by 1 point. That's not "struggling"

They won the Natty in 2014, the beat Clemson in a beat down, they beat ND this year, they beat em last year, they beat Utah in a bowl game, they barely lost to Clemson 1 year in the CFP, won a couple NY6 bowls...

I mean, WHAT THE $#^# are you talking about? Sometimes you really get some weird narrative in your head that is completely devoid of reality. You just point to some stat from 1980 or something with zero context and say it's fact. Lmao

Ohio State has won two national championships in the 2000s, only 2 teams have done better. They have won multiple NY6 bowls and done fairly well OOC. You can't point to a few games and say "they stuggle out of conference" because of it. Let me repeat: Only LSU and Alabama have more NC's since 2000. That is not struggling.

Ohio State record vs. SEC in bowl games

Ohio State is 5-12 against the SEC all time, but that record drops to 2-11 in bowl games. Just off the top of my head I can remember them losing to Clemson 3 times, Va Tech, USC, Oregon and I believe they lost to Oklahoma. They don’t play good against teams outside the big 10 that are good. They have won a few games. I’m sure you can’t find it. What is Ohio States record against the SEC since 2000 if that’s the year you want to use?

I’m also comparing apples to apples I’m comparing Ohio St to teams of their caliber which is high standards.

An there you go, pulling out the "all time" like it matters. And of course changing the goal posts now, as you said "outside the Big Ten" and now it's "against the SEC"

Stop

I will argue that OSU was robbed in that Georgia game...By any definition that was a targeting penalty on Harrison in the endzone and they got away with it...They couldn't stop him and that knocked him out of the game and that changed the whole game...OSU got screwed in that game by the officiating crew...They throw that flag OSU scores and that game is over...I can't believe more isn't said about that call...Those sorts of officiating is why I call these games a farce...I honestly believe this stuff is all controlled to get in the teams they want in...You also know that ESPN has a business interest in the B1G not doing well for their network and don't think for a minute they don't use all of their clout to try to achieve the outcomes they want...

@roaminglion  I’m sorry Roam, beating Ohio and Miami Ohio doesn’t count as big wins. I’m talking teams that have the same talent level or at least close.

@the-funeral-director  They do dictate who gets in the playoffs that’s why they vote for who gets in instead of letting teams win conferences to get in. It’s right in front of your eyes folks.

@southern-psu-fan Has to be in front of your eyes to pass their "eye test", we all just don't see it the same, aka the media favorite teams. lol If we were ND, PSU'd still be in the top 5. Not that we belong there.

Yet again you're just picking things out I never even said. How you you get "Ohio & Miami of Ohio" out of beating ranked ND twice, ranked Oklahoma, Clemson in the playoff, Alabama in the playoff, Oregon in the playoff, etc. etc. etc.

Where do you come up with this stuff?

@roaminglion

1977 Alabama 35 Ohio State 6

1989 Auburn 31 Ohio State 14

1992 Georgia 21 Ohio State 14

1994 Alabama 24 Ohio State 17

1995 Tennessee 20 Ohio State 14

2000 South Carolina 24 Ohio State 7

2001 South Carolina 31 Ohio State 28

2006 Florida 41 Ohio State 14

2007 LSU 38 Ohio State 24

2010 Arkansas 26 Ohio State 31 (This win was self vacated by tOSU)

2011 Florida 24 Ohio State 17

2014 Alabama 35 Ohio State 42 (This is Ohio State's only official win against the SEC in the post season)

2020 Alabama 52 Ohio State 24

2022 Georgia 42 Ohio State 41

Not counting the Arkansas Sugar Bowl win that Ohio State self vacated, the official record moves to 1-12 against the SEC in postseason play, 2-12 if you count it. Its second largest and smallest losses happen to be the most recent two games. Urban Meyer has the only win that counts, and never lost to the SEC. Jim Tressel was the coach for the self vacated win.

This is where I come up with it. Of course if you watch espn or listen to sports talk radio you’ll hear every year will Ohio St choke again playing SEC teams. Where have you been Roam? You do know the chant SEC SEC SEC got started because of all the ass kickings Ohio St got playing SEC teams don’t you. It’s Ohio St of course they’ll win a few games but their record against SEC teams in bowl games is pathetic especially with the horses they have on their teams every year.

@southern-psu-fan But you never addressed my first point...The non targeting call on an obvious targeting hit...That changed the whole game...The refs make that call which was obviously the correct call and that game is over...Ohio State scores and the ballgame is over...Instead Ohio State lost it's best player that night to a concussion and the offense was never the same after that...That one play changed the game...It was a farce and I can't believe nobody even mentions that play...It's like it didn't matter when that play defined the whole ballgame...That one play decided that game...Just as I believe that one play on Saturday changed the whole game...They insult your intelligence with the way these games are officiated...They make a mockery of it...

@the-funeral-director  Ohio St gets so many calls in their favor it’s probably hard for most fans to see anything go against them. I do remember Ohio St getting the shaft in that game I  just can’t remember what it was but it was a game changer kind of like Saturday when we scored the defensive TD that I was calling for. I remember Coach Day being pissed and I was on his side. You do see them scores, right? Lol

1. How surprusing that were going back to 1977. FFS.

2. I didnt say they never lose, but YOU SAID they "stuggle" out side the Big Ten. You know what I could do? Post a bunch of big wins against good teams. I woukd have to go back 40+ years to do it either.

All you do is the same BS nonsense every time. Say something like "they struggle outside the Big Ten" then when called on it cycle over to "but the stink against the SEC."

Sorry pal, but the SEC isnt the only power conference outside the Big Ten. And funny how YOU STILL fail to even mention the numerous wins I posted 3 times now. So what about beating Clemson? What about beating ND? What about beating Miami? What about all those other big wins?

Or is it cherry picking time to just list losses and act like they never win at all?

@roaminglion Ohio St is 1-4 against Clemson Roam. You know good and well ND is way behind in talent trying to compete with Ohio St. ND ain’t had the talent Ohio St does since the 80’s. They’re 10-13 against USC another losing record. Apples to Apples Roam teams with the same talent level

They beat Clemson the last time they played, and I am also not going to play the whole "I only count ranked teams I say are good" game with you.

The whole reason you think OSU struggles is because you discount anybranked team they beat as "well they werent good anyway"
