Why didn’t we punt the ball from our own 40 with around 8 minutes left and only down by 7?
Because that's not Jimmy Ball, lol.
Correct...That is one I blame on Franklin...Again in spite of the terrible offensive scheme for this game if you take away that one B.S. call Penn State probably wins this game...Remember...They took away 7 points from PSU and then proceeded to penalize PSU into an OSU TD...That was a 14 point swing...That one call changed the whole game...
Yes it did.
What were the guys saying on the podcast that you listen to.
It's funny that when out defense palys well, it's Manny Diaz and a great defensive scheme. But when our Offense gets shut down, it's not their DC doing anything... it's our "stupid OC" not knowing how to coach. Lmao

So if it’s not the coaches then who’s responsibility is it for game plannning, preparation, play calling and in game adjustments?
@psujoe Homer, I’m trying not to be selfish here. For Allar future would he be better off at USC letting Lincoln Riley groom him? I believe the kid will be a great QB on the right team. The problem is we might have to play him and there’s a good chance he could beat us. We can win 10 or 11 games with this kid but beating Ohio St with the athletes on their team I don’t see it happening. #9 Pribula is a better QB for our team. In todays college football you better have the right situation for a pocket QB and we ain’t been in that situation for 15 years. There’s only a hand full of coaches that can win NC’s with true pocket QB and James Franklin ain’t one of ‘em. I hate to say it but it’s just what I see we need a very mobile QB and we have a chance. Clemson might be a good team for the kid? Or do we just keep him and win 10 or 11 games next year? I’d like everybody’s opinion?
@southern-psu-fan We’re definitely not winning a national championship with JF and will probably never win the B1G again with him as the coach. Franklin is not a championship caliber coach and it doesn’t matter who the QB is. 2016 was a fluke.
Barry Switzer sent Troy Aikman to UCLA because he didn’t fit their system. If y’all satisfied with winning 10 or 11 games then we can do that with our defense but beating Ohio St ain’t happening. I believe we can win a NC with James Franklin, we just gotta get the right QB. 2016 wasn’t a fluke that was a good football team and James Franklin built that team. James Franklin is a good football coach.
@southern-psu-fan ummm you better take a good look at the roster, the defense is going to be decimated by graduation and departures to the NFL. And if Manny leave’s it’s going to be a major rebuild.
Did the opposing coaches not plan, prepare, play call, and adjust too? My point was people seem to forget that there were coaches on the other sideline too. It's not like YC just came up with something and the guys on the other sideline didn't adjust. It's funny that when out defense palys well, it's Manny Diaz and a great defensive scheme. Simply changing what you are doing, or going to a different formation is okay, but the other cosch isnt going to just sit there and not adjust. Sometimes you give credit where it's due, and Ohio State's DC did well.
It wasnt all because our guy is great or our guys sucks. The other guy did some work too lol
@psujoe you might be right but we’ve recruited very good so I’m not that worried about the defense I’m more concerned with the QB position. I don’t believe Diaz is leaving. He’s not a good Head Coach not even close. He’s good right where he is. He’s got it made at Penn St. if the NFL comes calling he might leave.
Before we send Allar off to greener pastures, we better make sure Pribula is the mobile WB we think he can be. We really won't know what he can do until we see him in a situation where the game is on the line. Can he connect on the passes he needs to make as well as his ability to move the chains with his feet? That's why I would have loved to see him get some PT against the Suckeyes. That would have given us a much better feel for what he can do.

Yup and obviously they do it better. Thanks for agreeing and proving my point.
@rip I’m just looking at it me not being selfish brother. I’m selfish when it’s about Penn St winning football games so that kid ain’t going anywhere lol…just fun talk but you never know.
We would be 6-1 right now if Pribula was the starting QB and maybe 7-0 if Pribula is the real deal. With any offense Saturday we win that football game. Defense is to good to lose any of the other games.
Lmao, you didnt even mention the other team's coaches. But sure okayDid the opposing coaches not plan, prepare, play call, and adjust too? I hear you, Southern. I'm over the loss and chalk it up to Allar having a bad day. It happens to the best of 'em. What I can't get over is the fact that given we had no success on offense Jimmy should have put Pribula in to see what he could generate. That and the bone head decision to go for it on that 4th down and the stinkin refs taking our scoop & score away. Hope we take my frustrations out on Indiana, lol.
You have absolutly no way to prove or back that up. Possible? Sure. However there is no way to know, Pribula could have a turnover problem, he may fumble in practices, stuggle with reads, etc.@rip I’m just looking at it me not being selfish brother. We dont know. I'd like to think they are playing the guy who gives us the best chance to win.

Scoop and score came back on penalty committed by penn state. Did you watch the game. Did you watch the replay
@roaminglion just my opinion on what I’ve seen on the field this year. IMO Pribula should’ve got to play to see if he could’ve made something happen to try and win. I also believe we’re seeing the same thing with Allar as we did with Hack. Don’t want the QB sitting on the bench showing up the starting QB because it might cause controversy. Allar might be the better QB for NW but that doesn’t mean he’s the best QB for Ohio State. James Franklin doesn’t want QB controversy and that’s why Pribula didn’t get to play IMO. Joe did the same shit with Moreli and he admitted it and said he was wrong that he could’ve won more games if he played MROB. I’m sure they have their reasons but I just don’t get it. Now there are coaches that will bench QB’s if they’re struggling and it ended pretty dam good for Saban and Spurrier. Sometimes you gotta take a chance man
That was a cheap call. Hold was way from the play and not as bad as a lot of the other holds these sheet heads overlooked during the game. You can bet your arse if the teams were reversed and OSU made the scoop and score, the play would stand and there would be no hold call. This was just another example of the B1G refs protecting the fair haired boys and screwing us. Did you not see the same sheet happen to PSU many times before down through the years?
You've seen him run against backups and go 6-13 passing against backups. What am I missing?@roaminglion just my opinion on what I’ve seen on the field this year.
