Constitution. Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy. According to the Basic Law of Saudi Arabia, the country's de facto constitution adopted by royal decree in 1992, the king must comply with Sharia (that is, Islamic law) and the Qur'an. The Qur'an and the Sunnah are declared to be the de jure country's constitution.
You speak out against this and you get the death penalty. They kill people all the time for speaking out against the King.
@roaminglion penalty is still death regardless and The King could care less what anybody thinks like I’ve said. They kill people all the time it’s nothing new. I don’t think it’s right but it is what it is.
No, sorry... but you don't get to just say "it is what it is" when another country kills people working for us. WTF? He wasn't killed in Saudi Arabia, the King had them go into some else's soverign nation and cut his head off because of what he was writing for a USA paper.
No, I reject that BS argument. We don't just say "oh well" when other people just kill our allies or people working for us.
I...I.... I'm really sorry hear but are you seriously arguing that you think it's okay if we get lower gas prices? Again, wtf is your point here?
@roaminglion I think they’re all evil Roam and they go wherever they want and cut peoples heads off when they feel that their beliefs are being challenged. The king in Saudi Arabia practice Shari Law and he has to follow it and if you speak out against Saudi Arabia the penalty is death. Our media gets to say what they want and usually get away with it regardless if it’s the truth or not but dealing with Islam they’ll cut your effing head off if you say something against them and they’ll go anywhere and do it as they did with this dude. All the evil that goes on in the Middle East with Islam especially what they do with women and most of our chick shit media panders to ‘em. Roam, where have you been Saudi Arabia and a few other Islamic countries have been doing this shit for 1500 years brother this ain’t nothing new and they’ll keep doing it and they don’t give a rats ass what anybody thinks. I don’t agree with it I’m just telling you how it is and how it’s always been. You don’t just get to say that’s not fair or right with these people they don’t give a crap.
Sadia Arabia has been an ally of the United States government for a long time and like I’ve told you, they’ve always cut peoples heads off if they got out of line if they can get to ‘em. China, Iran, Iraq and Russia do the same shit brother. You’re talking to me like “it’s not fair that they do this and it’s not right” you’re scaring me roam, I thought you were a common sense guy that can be reasoned with I never thought you were a far left guy but if that’s what you think on how Saudi Arabia is you are dead wrong with absolutely no wiggle room they don’t give a rats butt what anybody thinks when it comes to speaking out against the regime. Women here get killed here for going against Islam and most of the time it doesn’t get reported.
My point is you act like Saudi Arabia just started cutting peoples heads off for speaking out against the regime and I’m telling you, you are wrong!
Saudi Arabia is known to be one of the world's most deadly executioners. Between 2010-2021, at least 1,243 people were executed. In 2022, at least 147 people were executed.

Why do you think I don't know what goes on there? I know full well what happens there, and I know what sharia law is. I know we need to deal with them on certain things, and I'm certainly not... as you say... simply saying "it’s not fair that they do this and it’s not right"
It's just that... I'm not the one arguing we should allow it, or put up with it, simply because you want to pay lower gas prices. That, my friend, is a seriously bad argument.
@roaminglion I didn’t mean to make that kind of argument because if I had my way we would drill here in the USA for all our oil and if we did buy oil it would be from Canada or Mexico. Dealing with energy we shouldn’t rely on anybody but ourselves or our friends and China, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and Russia ain’t our friends and I’m sure I missed a few.
@southern-psu-fan okay, I get it. Unfortunatly drilling here wont change much and never has in the past. It is what it is, just like Vlinton gets credit for the economy in the 90s when he practically had nothing to do with it
@roaminglion you a hard man to please Roam. Clinton and Trump are the best 2 presidents we’ve ever had and you don’t like either one of ‘em. Stop listening to whoever you’re listening too and just trust ole southern lol
@roaminglion Great question southern and great response Roam. I will add my 2 cents, there is "Liberalism" generally allocated to Democrats and there are "Conservatives", considered Republicans. What I see is the emergence of "Trumpism", that is to say people from all walks of life, party and faith base affiliations, that for their own reasons have kinship to his thinking. Personally I didn't mind traditional conservatives like Mitt Romney. I thought he was smart enough and balanced enough to be an effective Presidnent. I didn't vote for him as did most others so Obama became our 44th. President. In my mind this became an alarm to traditional Republicans and with the help of conservative talk show personalities, took strong measures to stymie the blue wave. With so many different issues, Trump's unorthadox rhetoric created broad appeal and he emerged as their solution to eventually become our 45th. President.
Roam, I think you are right about not any one President affecting gas and oil prices although he is blamed for stopping domestic oil production which is thought by some keeping the USA energy dependent. The truth is, Biden has outpaced Trump in oil and gas drilling in his first two years in office 6,430 to 6,172. And...make no mistake, the Saudi's carry the most influence. I don't think the Saudi's make decisions to punish the US and West. They are astute business people looking to maximize profit and insure fossil fuel demand sustainability. In doing so, it is in their best interest to be mindful of the fragility and stability in world affairs.
Man it’s great hearing from you lake. Please Check In tomorrow during the game if you have the time.

OMG are you serious? Holy crap they are both awful.
@lakerie Great post lake! I find it funny when people say I'm lefty liberal... because I DID vote for Romney in 2012!!!! LMAO!!!
@roaminglion I bet you were having fun voting in 2016 lol. Of course Hilary is nothing like the great Bill Clinton was. Bill was for the regular working folks and got things done. Clinton was able to work with the other side to get things done.

"Bill was for the regular working folks and got things done."
Bill signed NAFTA which basically screwed those regular working folks and is now considered one of the worst things to happen to blue collar workers in modern history.
It created a huge loss of manufacturing jobs, and outsourced a massive amount of other jobs...
But sure, he was for them. Sure.
@roaminglion After much consideration and emotional discussion, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the North American Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act on November 17, 1993, 234–200. The agreement's supporters included 132 Republicans and 102 Democrats.
Looks like both Parties were for nafta and I read where The first Bush administration was pushing it. It probably did screw the USA workers but it’s not just on Clinton they wanted it before he became president. I’m not saying Clinton or Trump was perfect but both do have a heart for the regular working folks of this country.

Can't have it both ways, you can't say a President is somehow responsible for gas prices largely out of their control but say "but, but, but other people supported it" when it's something THEY SIGNED INTO LAW.
Clinton also deregulated the banks, leading to the 2008 financial crisis... and signed the crime bill which both screw over middle to lower class individuals. Also, lets not forget he lied to Congress. You've got some rose colored glasses.
@roaminglion Clinton should’ve know if a Bush was for a bill it wasn’t good for the regular working folks, that’s definitely on him. I believe whoever is calling the shots now is a climate control idiot and every move they make makes oil go up and it’s done intentionally. When Trump gets back in the white house you can bet your butt gas will go down again. I love all you guys but y’all are falling for the supply and demand crap whoever the president is can always do something to make gas go up or down. 60% of it may be supply and demand the other 40% is policies from whoever the president is. My numbers are approximately im not saying it right on. Just to give you an example Kemp just took off the gas tax in Georgia and gas went down 20 cents a gallon. Don’t fall for the political BS Roam these scumbags climate control people know exactly what they’re doing. If Joe Biden was 20 years younger they wouldn’t get away with this shit. Dude don’t even know what’s going on he’s to old.

Ffs Southern, the price of gas didn't go down in Georgia. The price YOU PAY went down because he suspended the gas tax. The Governor of Georgia doesnt control the price of oil or gas. My lord.
The price of gas stayed the same, the only thing that changed was Georgia isnt taxing you for it. And if it "went down" 20 cents, then it actually WENT UP because the state tax he suspened was 32 cents. So the only way you are paying 20 cents less if gas prices went up 12 cents after he stoped taxing you 32 cents.
Please just stop. The Governor of Georgia did not make the price of oil go down. He just suspened taxes for a month to help people with inflation.
You say nonsense like "Biden is too old" and Trump will fix the gas price, yet if Trump is elected he would be just as old as Biden is now. So how the hell does that logic even work? Dafuc
I didn’t say the governor controls the gas peace’s I’m just showing you how one political move a governor did and made it go down 20 cents and you don’t think the president can do anything? Gimme a break. When you put oil men in charge of this country for 12 years what makes you think they don’t do what’s best for the oil company considering that’s how they get rich. Gas went up during the first Bush then Clinton got it back down then George W took over then we all took it up the butt and you know that’s the truth then Obama took over an 8 year disaster and got the gas back under control then what trump took over he said he would get gas even lower and he did and now we don’t know who is pulling the strings but what we do know is this administration has got all climate control people running it and Joe Biden is a old puppet that’s not doing great mentally and look at the gas prices. Like I said, some of it is supply and demand but not all of it. Why can you just blame whoever is in charge especially when they are in charge? Like I said, if Biden was 20 years younger this wouldn’t be happening. Thank Jesus for Trump for taking down Jeb Bush or there’s no telling how much we would be paying for gas.
@southern-psu-fan You didnt show anything, you stated Georgia suspended a tax for a month. That didnt change the price of gas, it just stopped Georgia from collecting taxes on gas.
Just stop
"Why can't you just blame whoever is in charge especially when they are in charge?"
Interesting comment from someone who literally tried to say the Bill Clinton is for the working people... when he was the one who actually signed the bill ithat decimated the working class into law.
Where was your sense of accountability then?
@roaminglion big picture Roam. The working middle class done just fine under Bill Clinton. None of ‘em are perfect but from 1992 to 2000 the blue collar folks did pretty dang good just like the did from 2016 to 2020. Obama had too much shit to fix after 8 years of George Bush but people still did pretty good. We might not be but there’s a lot of people struggling right now gas prices are causing high inflation and it’s all because of the policies of the Biden administration. Get out of your bubble and look around the country. We gotta drill and stop with the stupid nonsense on all the oil companies. I drive 17 mile to work and my wife drives 4 miles the gas doesn’t hurt me but it’s devastating to half of the country and all they hear is go buy an electric car…gimme a break
Just to be fair and not a hypocrite I need to get out of my bubble too. Most of us listen to people that we usually agree with and don’t think outside the bubble that you’re in and we all can be guilty.

I am not in a bubble for stating the fact that Bill Clinton signed NAFTA. I am also not in a bubble for stating the President of the United States does not control the price of gas. It's partisan BS that politicians use to attack the other side. When Dems are in charge Repubs say it, and when Repubs are in charge Dems say it.
Also, proclaiming "blue collar workers did good" doesnt make it true. 2016-2020 wasnt "good" for them just because Trump said so. Salaries were exceptionally low, factory jobs went down (even though Trump says they were up) and with a so called "great economy"... Trump added 8 trillion dollars to the debt. That's insane, debt is supposed to go down, or at least be balanced, during a good economy.
Sorry, but if you are adding 8 trilliin to the debt in 4 years... the economy wasnt as good as you think it is. And yeah, my bubble includes a lot of blue collar workers. I'd love for you to go tell them how good they had it from 2016-2020 with a straight face.
