That's it, pure and simple. Sticks out like a sore thumb, even against bad teams we couldnt pass with any consistency. Offense, quite honestly, looks fine everywhere else.
Defense just looks ridiculous.
Defense was phenomenal this year ... how many times have we had 3 shutouts in a year?
Should be another line on that list :

Doomed? Out of 133 FBS teams only 21 have 10 or more wins. I really wonder what DOOMED the the 112 teams with less than 10 wins. And yes, before you ask, I am totally satisfied winning ONLY 10 games a year. I love watching PSU games. I just watch, I don't try to dissect the game.
@psugrad81 I want to win big 10 championships, NC’s and bowl games but I don’t want to burn things to the ground if we don’t especially knowing we’re at a recruiting disadvantage from the top 8 states to recruit from as of today. You winning 10 or 11 games a year my advice is be happy until you can get a few special players that can help you win a NC and it does happen just look at Clemson and auburn. Just saying

What are you talking about, who said anything about burning things to the ground? What spelled doom againt Michigan and Ohio State? The passing game. My freaking point was to show how good we were everywhere else, y'all just looking for boogeymen or something.
@roaminglion I’m not talking about you roam I’m going on other stuff I read people wanting to fire everybody in the coaching staff. My son is on twitter and all that stuff and he sends me what people out there are saying. Wasn’t saying you do. When you say you just want an OC change I believe you.
Just read Dana Holgorsen got fired. He’s not a good head coach but I believe he’s a pretty good OC.
PSU81 has already told us he couldn’t care less about wins and would be happy with just a participation trophy. A Penn State football game is nothing more than a meaningless event to him.

Good points on the offense. I am not going to put the blame on any one particular reason, the offense just isn't there. HOWEVER, as much as the defense excelled, they too made costly mistakes against Ohio State and Michigan....probably more so against Ohio State. Not taking a fair catch and allowing a 70 yard punt hurt. And that holding call that overturned the scoop for 6 play hurt even more.
Hopefully we get a good OC and the offense can step up next year. Defense should be ok, but they are losing some key players, so its the Offenses turn to shine!
