I find it interesting that California is going after college sports to pay the players while just about simultaneously easing up on the requirements for unpaid internships (they eased up on their laws in 2010).
So the NCAA is way out of bounds for providing student athletes an education that otherwise costs upwards of $240,000, but it's perfectly fine for a major multi-billion dollar corporation to provide absolutely nothing of monetary value in return for an intern's hard work?
This makes zero sense to me. California legislators are perfectly fine with people who actually need money to pay the bills getting no payment for their work, but athletes who have their education, food, and board fully paid for are the ones who need to be further compensated?
Seems legit to me.
