Tommy Stevens will not be the starting QB.

Care to expand on that??

Surgery did not accomplish the goal. If it was successful, Stevens would have played Saturday. Everyone, including the coaches, want this kid to succeed. Unfortunately for Stevens, the fickle finger of fate did not point in his direction. Maybe he can apply for a medical redshirt and transfer to a school where he can play.

Shows a complete lack of medical knowledge... To fully heal from any major foot surgery it takes months. As I said, fully heal. Why risk it for a glorified practice? Would make zero sense.

Bunion surgery takes 4 to 6 months to heal from for pete's sake... So the 3 1/2 months since Tommy's surgery it is completely normal to be up, walking around, and able to lightly practice but also not at 100% in order to make cuts an/or run full speed.

Your feet take all the weight of your body, it is absolutely normal for recovery from surgery to take this long.

I’m not a Doctor but my neighbor is and his speciality is ortho.  He thinks there may be issues with the surgery. None of us know for sure but based upon what Franklin has said I don’t think it looks good for Stevens. Loyalty only goes so far. Clifford looks very good and if it is even, he will get the nod.

Tommy Stevens will not be PSU’s starting QB.

Recovery,  recovery,  recovery.  It's the physical therapy that comes after. If surgery was unsuccessful , normally they continue PT. Most PT doctors will not allow activities that can cause more injury.  Agree,  probably will not see him starting.

"Most PT doctors will not allow activities that can cause more injury."

Wow, thanks for that insight. I kinda hope no Physical Therapists would allow activities that can cause injuries.

Taking it easy and allowing a foot to heal in mid-April has no bearing on playing in a game 5 months from now. Stevens is still well within the time period for healing after foot surgery.
