Hello! My son and I started a tradition a few years ago of picking a game at the start of the season to attend so we can experience the different atmospheres. This year we chose the PSU/OSU game because I felt like there was a good chance both teams would be undefeated and it would be a big game.

I’m a planner and need multiple backup plans, so I’m stressing a little bit right now about parking. I didn’t realize the fields needed parking permits.

We are staying in Harrisburg, which I know isn’t the greatest due to the 1 lane road portion of the highway.

My initial thoughts were to leave the hotel about 4:30am to get to town and (hopefully) beat some of the traffic.

I had read about a small church that has parking near the campus and was going to try there.

Also ready about Hills Plaza parking and the shuttle but I would prefer to walk vs using a shuttle.

Any suggestions on some options to try that would be semi-convenient for in/out to Harrisburg?

Appreciate it! Can’t wait to see you guys knock off OSU!!!

Sorry I can't help you w/ any of your arrangements, used to be a local, so have "ins". However; one "hmmmm", you might want to consider is; if there are Secret Service guarded individual(s) allegedly attending, that's going to really throw a monkey wrench into everything.

We like being in downtown State College before and after the game and park at this church:

Grace Lutheran Church

205 S Garner St, State College, PA 16801

Not sure where you’re staying in Harrisburg but if you’re leaving that early you’ll be well ahead of traffic and should be in State College around 6AM which is probably earlier than most things will be open so I would suggest stopping for breakfast somewhere along 322 once you start getting into town. If you decide to park there the church allows limited tailgating so chairs, radio and a cooler of food might be a good idea too.

P.S. You should probably contact that church to find out what time they open for parking.

As someone else said above. Good luck.....A convicted felon will be at the game selling his Project 2025.  Good luck trying to knock off OSU.
