Man did this dude stepped up his game and helped get the win last night. I’m not saying he’s a better QB than DA I just believe he fits the offense better. The run game is better with this kid on the field. Had DA played in the second half I believe we still win the game but it was fun watching Pribula run the offense. At this time in the season I believe DA is still the man if he’s a 100%. It might be none of these games are easy to win especially playing on the road. 7-0 baby 😁
What if Penn St, Indiana and Oregon finish the regular season undefeated who plays in the big 10 championship game? Roam? I hope it happens regardless lol
Anybody can please answer that question if you know? Maybe it’s the 2 highest ranked teams? Thanks
IMO, PB is better suited and runs the offense better than DA; but he's gonna throw an interception or two b/c he isn't scared to throw into coverage.
Beau must be making a nice chunk of change through NIL to keep him out of the portal. I'm sure there are a lot of teams that would love to have him for their starting QB!

I believe DA will be in the NFL next year and Pribula will be the man. As long as DA is a 100% this is still his team. He’s not playing bad he’s had a good year but it seems we can run the ball better with Pribula. Pribula keeps the DE’s and LB’r on their toes lol
I agree, Southern. Allar should continue to be the starter if he's healthy. However, if he is struggling and the O isn't getting it done, based on Beau's performance and how good the O looked with him in there, I hope Jimmy doesn't hesitate to put Pribula in and see what he could do. And I'm not talking about a "Pribula package" or a trick play or two. Give him a shot at running the O just like he did when Allar got hurt.
Kotelnicki’s typical offense is designed for a QB with the skill set of a player like Pribula but it had been modified for Allar. Allar is a very good QB but it just seems like there is something missing from his game and I sure don’t know what it is. Maybe he just isn’t suited for what Kotelnicki really wants to do?
DA is a good stand up QB with arm strength and the ability to run for a few. What I see is that he is not very fluid, hard to explain but know when I see it; and he just doesn't demonstrate/exude a "we got this" swagger when the shit is hitting the fan. IMO as a fan you go, crap we got a 50/50 at best of getting this vs e.g. with McSorely you figured he was going to pull it off.Allar is a very good QB but it just seems like there is something missing from his game and I sure don’t know what it is. Maybe he just isn’t suited for what Kotelnicki really wants to do?
Pribula is crazy fast and he’s crazy athletic but I’m not gushing over him. Trace 2.0 and that’s fine but there’s negatives that come with the positives. Yea sure #9 was the last to beat Ohio State but he’s the same Trace that lost to Pittsburgh and got blown vs Michigan. Allar has been perfect against B10 and unranked opponents not named Ohio State and Michigan. I’m not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water yet. Pribula will be just like Trace when it comes to those games Trace dropped and it kept us out of the playoffs. I guess it doesn’t matter anyway we aren’t “elite”.
I'd take a look at those scores you mentioned, because it looked like the D didn't show up for either game...Pribula is crazy fast and he’s crazy athletic but I’m not gushing over him. @kularrow the Michigan game we just got an ole time ass kicking but the Pitt game McSorley threw a bomb late in the game that would’ve possibly got the win but Hamilton didn’t catch the ball it went through his hands. It’s definitely DA team today I just want the best dude on the field that gives us the best chance to win.just win.
Pribula looked great, but man there were some really dicey throws that worked out. I know you all saw them, WR was pretty well covered and he fit it in to a tight window.
That's great, but also usually decisions like that haunt you against better defenses. Also once there is tape on a kid, all of a sudden the defense is more prepared for what they will see.
I love Pribula though, he showed a lot of skill and seems to have the tools.
Bingo! My wife and I said the same thing about those passes. I like the kid and I think against Ohio State he needs to be involved more. I personally think we have a better chance of moving the ball and eating up the clock with him in. Got to keep Ohio State off the field as much as possible.....they can score quickly! I like our Defense, but dang they seem to give up long drives too much.
I am just wondering. Penn State "should" go 4-1 the rest of this year at worse....EVEN if Pribula is the QB. An 11-1 PSU team who's only loss is against Ohio State should be in the playoffs. The reason I say this, evey scenario I have seen NOW has PSU in but not as the conference champ. I assume this is because they have PSU losing to Ohio State but winning the rest. Do you sit Allar this weekend, roll the dice with Pribula, and let Allar heal and be ready for the playoffs? Or keep him out this weekend and THEN play him sparingly the next 4 games if needed?
I have to imagine this is being considered to some extent by the coaches. If PSU would lose to Ohio State with the backup QB, but win out, I see them staying in the top 10.
Beat Ohio State and we don't have to worry about being left out!! That is by far the best scenario!!
GO STATE!!
@roaminglion It’s easy to remember him throwing the ball last year when he wasn’t that good at it so I’m hoping he’s just gotten better throwing the ball. Seems like he knows exactly where the receivers are to make the throws he did because they were some tough throws. I understand what you’re saying and if this kid can throw that good James Franklin needs a foot shoved up his ass and turned sideways for not letting him start because the offense looked pretty dang good in the second half and Wisconsin in known for having a good defense most of the time. It’s one of those times can I believe what my eyes saw Saturday night 😂. Let’s also not forget that TD he throw against Ole Miss and got us back in that game and also the game Pribula stepped in last year when Allar got hurt and got the win because I believe we would’ve lost to Rutgers had Pribula not come in and saved the day. I’m trying to connect the dots here and does he get that lucky every time he comes in? 😂
@mtnittanylion what if DA sits this week and we beat Ohio State with Pribula? If that happens we got a QB controversy and James Franklin has shown he doesn’t want that from what I’ve seen over the years. I don’t know why but it is what it is.
Yep, watching the slow mo replays of his throws, I told my kid, just a matter of time before he gets picked or pass batted down. But then, I'm thinking, ok, DA has had passes batted down and been intercepted, so the problem is?
Me, I'd go DA, if he's healthy. Change up if he's not producing or is hobbled.
I loved seeing Pribula attempt those throws ! It was awesome seeing the kid have confidence in his abilities. I watched the game again last night and noticed how the whole offense seemed more fluid and confident with him as QB.
No matter what happens in the next couple weeks I’m a firm believer that a player should never lose his starting position due to injury so when he’s healthy Allar should be the starter.
I totally agree with you and Joe. As I posted earlier, "Allar should continue to be the starter if he's healthy. However, if he is struggling and the O isn't getting it done, based on Beau's performance and how good the O looked with him in there, I hope Jimmy doesn't hesitate to put Pribula in and see what he could do. And I'm not talking about a "Pribula package" or a trick play or two. Give him a shot at running the O just like he did when Allar got hurt."
I hope it doesn't come to this, but if it does, Jimmy gotta do what's best for the team. Jimmy gotta do what Jimmy got to do!
Southern.....I truly believe Pribula gives us a better chance of winning against Ohio State. I think it would 2016 all over again, but NO miracles needed to win. But, talking out of both sides of my mouth, Allar has the experience this year, his passing is much better, so I am concerned if he can't go on Saturday.
It has taken Allar and the offence until the second half to get moving. Pribula came in and the offense got it done in what we really can say was HIS first half of the game.
If I had to coach this Saturday, I would go with a healthy Allar just because. However, after 7 games, against not one REALLY above average team, Allar hasn't set the world on fire. He has moments of greatness, and then he just looks average. Is it him? Is it the play calling? Or, are we not really a top 5 team? Who knows. But this weekend we will find out just how good WE ARE......PENN STATE!!!
GO STATE!!
Drew went 9 for 90 on his scoring drive and had Fleming not dropped that ball it would have been another score. Pribula went 9 for 76 and 13 for 81 on scoring drives after the pick six gutted them. This whole idea the “offense was so smooth and seamless” just isn’t true. Wisconsin game planned for a non mobile pocket QB. Let’s see how those risky throws pan out for BP against OSU’s athletes. I’m not ragging on Beau, it’s every Pennsylvania’s dad fever dream to see an undersized QB go out there and win the big one for Penn State and I think he has heart but benching him for Drew? The biggest advantage we have right now is they have to game plan for two QBs and their O line is on life support. Don’t kid yourself, Ryan Day wants Beau out there not DA.
I don't think we have great QB's no matter what. No, I don't think benching Allar after a 7-0 start is a smart decision at all. Quite a few mistakes happened under Pribula, but overall, PSU was just too much for Wisconsin to overcome, so we got away with the mistakes.
So, here we sit, 7-0, ranked #3 and now facing a very good #4 Ohio State team. JF's record vs Ohio State is horrible. JF's record vs top 10 Teams is horrible.....1-9 in the last 10 games. And now he potentially has a QB issue this weekend not to mention some D guys who may not be available
I don't know about you, but I am not feeling all warm and fuzzy at the moment. The ONLY reason I would like to see Pribula is because I think we can move the chains more with him and keep the TOP in our favor and Ohio State off the field. We beat Ohio State with a run game and I like having 3 guys in the backfield at the same time that can run, and run fast...
GO STATE!!!
