With the emergence of the PAC12 as the best conference in the country(according to the press) there’s not much of a chance of the B1G getting two in the playoff. We have to win the conference to get in because the PAC won’t be left out.
Yeah, well, they ALL play each other just like Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan still have to do and we are only in week 4 on top of it.
I like Penn State vs Washington for the National Title!
GO STATE.
I like what I"m seeing and besides, I'm a confirmed optimist. All we have to do is keep winning and we're in!
PAC is the 4th best conference just like it always is.
I'd take the Pac 12 over the Big 12 and ACC
The PAC may not get let out, but the B1G has 3 teams in the top 6. It’s quality over quantity. We are four weeks into the season. It will all play out.
OSU and Michigan, two huge games. Probably the best games of 2023 nationwide. Current bowl projections have Alabama and penn state.
The ACC wins its fair share of NC’s so I don’t know what y’all mean by it’s garbage. The PAC will fade away just like it always does. If USC can prove they can beat Utah then I might think the PAC might do something. ND, Clemson and Florida St have been in the NC games the last 10 years and the ACC won the NC 3 times and I believe Clemson has been there 4 times and won 2 so it wasn’t a fluke because they beat Alabama and Florida St beat Auburn if I remember correctly. I’m considering ND an ACC team because it’s their schedule
You make a lot of sense, Southern. Until you said you consider ND an ACC team. That makes the ACC garbage! LOL

I don't care if Clemson won the title 5 years ago, I care about what the conference is today. USC won a bunch of titles in the past too, don't see you mentioning those in your post.
I don't think the ACC isnt as good as the PAC this year.
ND isnt in the ACC, so they don't count. It's not their schedule either, they usually only play 4 ACC teams. This year they play a few more, but still not a full schedule worth.
However... you are right, more than 5 years ago no one on the current rosters of any ACC tram won some titles. That and $1 gets you a cup of coffee, because we are talking about the conference today.
@southern-psu-fan yea like always I try to talk current season and you want to talk about what some team did ten years ago. The ACC is garbage in 2023. Earlier today I was listening to the college sports station on Sirius XM and they had the ACC rated lowest of the power 5 and also claimed that the PAC12 is the deepest conference in the nation plus has 4 legitimate championship contenders.
Your ACC is so bad that lowly Duke is a conference championship contender!
What have you done lately then. IMO the last 10 years is considered lately and the ACC has done just fine. The conference is definitely right behind the SEC. Y’all seen it with your own eyes last year what Georgia did to TCU and TCU beat the big 10 champions. I don’t think the ACC is better than the big 10 but they they have won their fair share of NC’s lately. I’m just judging on what I’ve seen lately on the field and the big 10, PAC and big 12 need to pick their shit up!
Right now the B1G is very top heavy...You got 3 of the top 5 or 6 teams in the country in one division in the B1G...I think the B1G and the PAC are the top 2 conferences right now...Big 12 would be 3...Sec 4 and ACC 5...B1G east division is by far the best division in college football...We will see about Washington...I ain't sold on em yet...

"What have you done lately"... Then completely leaves out Texas beating Alabama this year when saying the Big 12 sucks, completely leaves out Washington State beating Wisconsin, and completely leaves out the PAC 12 is 3-0 vs. the Big Ten this year and has the best OOC record of any conference at 7-3 vs other Power 5 conferences.
But yes, when talking about how good a conference is this year, let's talk about 10 years ago.
@roaminglion I didn’t say 10 years ago, I said the last 10 years so that includes last year when we all witnessed what happened when the CFP committee sent a big 12 team to the playoffs.
I didn’t just call out the big 12 and PAC I also said the big 10 also needs to pick their shit up and win some of these big games. Michigan and Ohio St choked last year on the big stage especially Michigan. Penn State stepped up their game and brought home the Rose Bowl trophy but most of the other big 10 teams just didn’t get it done. When the ACC teams have been in the big games they’ve won their fair share going back the last 10 years. IMO the last 10 years do matter because it most likely decides on how you recruited for this years teams.

Yes we did... that Big 12 team beat the Big Ten Champ, or did you forget about that part?

If you are talking about how you recruited for this year's teams... then the last 5 years matter, not the last 10. And what a surprise, take the last 5 years and the ACC aint won nothing.
- @roaminglion Clemson won it 5 years ago 2018. Just for fun I’m putting the NC all the way back to 2007
2022 Georgia CFP 2021 Georgia CFP 2020 Alabama CFP 2019 LSU CFP 2018 Clemson CFP 2017 Alabama CFP 2016 Clemson CFP 2015 Alabama CFP 2014 Ohio State CFP 2013 Florida State BCS 2012 Alabama BCS 2011 Alabama BCS 2010 Auburn BCS 2009 Alabama BCS 2008 Florida BCS 2007 LSU BCS 2006 Florida Defense is why imo. I believe USC will struggle in the big 10 when they take the poundings every week they’re going to get. They better learn to start playing defense again that’s for sure.

I'm just going to ask you a simple question: How does Clemson winning the title in 2018 affect the Utah vs. Florida game this year? How did it impact the PAC 12's 7-3 record against other Power 5 conferences this year? Is Alabama good this year and Texas still crap because Alabama won the title a bunch of times recently, and Texas has mostly sucked? Or does the game this year actually count? You know, since we're talking about conference strength THIS YEAR and not 5-10 years ago.
Damn Southern give it up, if you go back and read the thread topic you might understand that I was talking about this year not ten years ago not 2018 not 2020 and not last year !!
P.S. It’s 2023 and PAC12 > ACC and right now it’s not even close.
Season has just got started by looking at them numbers odds are 99% on my side that’s why I put that up. We go through this every year and not one time have y’all been right about the PAC and big 12 they get there ass handed to ‘em when they get on the big stage. Now of course they’ll win a game here and there but you see what I put up since 2006. Them numbers don’t lie homer and you know it lol
LOL..as the worst P5 conference in the nation it’s highly probable that ACC won’t get a seat near the big stage.
P.S. GA Tech still sucks, always has and always will.
@psujoe lol Ga Tech is 2-2 hopefully 3-2 after this weekend. I honestly believe Brent Key has ‘em going in the right direction. In the 2 losses we had our chances but just didn’t get it done but they were competitive. It’s been tough remoh but I’m seeing light at the end of the tunnel, finally lol. The 2 teams that beat us are just better but we still had a chance. Ga Tech has the best QB I’ve seen all year so far that kid can play. The defense tries their best and they leave it all out on the field but man do they struggle to get off the field. Just ain’t got the players yet but it’s coming.
