I got it figured out why Wisconsin is #8. No, they don’t deserve it, it’s because the committee wants Ohio st in the playoffs even if they lose to Wisconsin lol. They can justify it by saying well it was #8 that beat Ohio st and Ohio st only has 1 loss so they deserve it lol. Bottom line is bob LSU and Ohio st is in regardless what happens Saturday lol. Whatever happened to if you lose you go home or at least to the back of the line lol
Wisconsin could be ranked 12th and even if OSU loses, OSU is in the playoff.

I think Wisconsin is a 10-15 team, they've beaten some good teams. Michigan is ranked #14 and Wisconsin absolutely dismantled them. They also beat #16 Iowa and crushed #18 Minnesota.
Yeah, they lost to Illinois but Georgia lost to South Carolina and they are 4th. IMO I'd slot them at #12 or #13 if/when they lose to OSU. Just behind Alabama but ahead of Michigan.

I think the committee would slot in LSU and Ohio State if they lose, but not so sure about Clemson. If Utah wins that means both the Pac-12 and Big 12 teams would have 1 loss and beaten teams that are ranked.
Clemson would have lost to the only ranked team it played all year, in the last game of the season. So if Utah wins and Clemson loses, IMO I don't think Clemson gets in.

I think they should have been, basically because they throttled Minnesota and Michigan. Both blowouts. IMO the committee is looking at the Illinois game as a "trap" game, one which Wisconsin got caught looking ahead to Ohio State the next week. So in that way they are being a bit more lenient.
I get what you are saying but Clemson has proven even with the weakest conference schedule playing in the ACC they are still a top 4 team and built to compete in the top 4.
