Indiana usually gives us a hard time. The offense imo played pretty good today would’ve played great if we catch a few passes that should’ve been caught. The defense come up big when we needed them too. We all need to understand that Indiana was also trying to win. Gotta come ready to play every week or you’ll get smacked around and get beat. We found a way to win and that’s all that matters. We all were just a little edgy because we lost last week. These games are hard to win. Dang Georgia just scored they got some dang good WR’s man smh. Dang I hate Georgia
Indiana is most likely the worst team in the B1G and we’re most likely the most overrated team in the country. I didn’t feel like saying it a couple weeks ago but after attending the couple games I did at the beginning of the season it was rather obvious that this team has serious issues and flaws. The biggest issues are a QB that has been an overhyped disappointment and the offensive and defensive lines that are both soft in the middle. Coincidentally the O and D lines plus the QB position were supposed to be some of the strengths of this team.
I think this win today will pay dividends down the road. IMO the team will get more out of being put in a put up or shut up situation which this ended up to be than they would have with a blow out romp! The INT was the best thing that could happen to Allar. It got the monkey off his back so to speak and now he can loosen up and take some calculated chances instead of trying to stay perfect. I'm still waiting to see Jimmy's "special package" with Pribula, lol. Didn't he say it had something to do with getting Pribula and Allar on the field at the same time? Anyway, we're 7-1 which sure as heck beats being 6-2!
Disagree on the O and D lines... We didn't lose to Ohio State because of the OLine or the Defense at all... we lost because our WRs can't get seperation, and our QB isn't good enough/ confident enough to anticipate the breaks and "throw them open".Indiana is most likely the worst team in the B1G and we’re most likely the most overrated team in the country. I honestly believe that's our biggest/only major issue... WRs & QB. The QB has the tools, but is either gun shy or not ready to anticipate the throws out of breaks. The WRs also fail to get separation. Put those two things together, and it's not good. Everything else is a red herring. The Oline is fine, the Defense (outside some brain farts today) is fine. We need to figure out the passing game.
Hopefully it's a young QB and the game hasn't quite "slowed down" for him yet. You hear that all the time about young QB's, the game eventually will slow down and they start making much quicker decisions. They get better at anticipating breaks, pressure, etc. I don't think that's happened for Allar yet. Some guys it never happens, some guys get it real quick... on average though, I believe the old adage was "year 3". Hopefully it doesn't take that long, but he's certainly not there yet.
Allar has the physical tools, and he seems to have the mental fortitude... but can he read the defense and make the correct quick decisions? He's not there yet.
@rip i agree brother. I said we’ll see what we got with Allar after the int and the dude come up big with a TD. These games are hard to win and the truth is we’ve lost 3 games in 2 years to top 5 teams. Gotta keep fighting and our time will come. I’ve been tough on Allar but the kid impressed me today I’m proud of him. I’m still not crazy about pocket QB’s but we do got a good one imo
@roaminglion If our RB’s were getting good long runs I’d say the OL was doing good but they have to fight for every yard they get and we do give up to many sacks and Allar is running for his life more plays than we’d like so I don’t know if the OL is fine. It’s not as good as last year imo. We should be running the ball better.
Believe it or not, Rutgers will have 3 losses after ohio state. Other than that they really are not that bad this year considering their history. MIchigan is a very tall task. Maryland next week, another game that won't be easy. At worst , 9-3. To have Indiana hang around for the whole game isn't promising
BTW is Clifford hurt because I didn’t see him play today? This dude catches the football and has played pretty good on the plays I’ve seen him play?
How is it that Georgia and Alabama don’t ever play? This is BS imo they should play each other in the regular season. Just asking I didn’t want to start a new post.
@forum-titan LMAO@ the loser Rutgers fan from Aristes. Are “Rutgers flags flying all over the coal region of PA” again?
“Run them on a rail Rutgers I hate Penn State!”
CV had 4 INT today…man smh. I can’t figure the ACC out lol

Yeah, you are worse than a troll. Not a true die hard penn state fan.
I couldn't have said it better. I don't see the Oline moving the defensive line back. It seems they're holding their own at best. Poor pass protection is not only due to some Oline breakdowns, but our backs are not doing a good job picking up the blitz and Allar is spending a lot of time back there.
I don't think Clifford played today. Don't know if he's hurt or not, but he does make some catches when he's targeted.
Playing sPitt is going to help us how? We already have rutgers for our creampuff.Homer, Pitt stinks lol

Yes there are WR issues but we knew that before the season even started. Solid O’line play was supposed to help solve those issues and also help Allar mature and become comfortable in the pocket but instead he has been under constant pressure and pass plays don’t have time to develop. Our WR’s and QB definitely haven’t been great but the O’line hasn’t been helping them.
I disagree about the lines on either side of the ball...Tough to run when you have 8 and 9 guys firing in on run blitzes cause you never throw the ball downfield or on first down...I think this coaching staff is 95% the cause of this crap...The defense is one of the best in the country but the offense is as vanilla as it gets...I agree with what Roam said regarding the QB not anticipating throws to guys out of breaks...What was covered in high school is wide open in college...I just think this coaching staff could do a much better job of putting these guys in a position to succeed...I also am not enamored with the coaching staff's development or should I say lack there of with Allar...They have much to fix and I don't have much confidence in them...I think Michigan is going to score 17 to 20 points on em and I am not sure this offense as it stands now can even score at all vs. Michigan...I have zero confidence in this coaches staff to turn this offense around...
We should be able to run all over Indiana even if they are loading the line. Looks like the same OL we’ve been watching the last 12 years. I have no clue what y’all watching. It’s average imo
Let me say though, most teams have average OL there’s only a few team that have good OL.
@southern-psu-fan I honestly dont know what the heck you are looking at. Both Allen and Singleton are averaging over 4 yards a carry, with every team playing 6 to 8 in the box because we can't pass deep. Like, that's pretty good when teams are loading the box.
I dont know how else to say it, the OLine is run blocking against 1 to 3 more people in the box practically every play as opposed to last year. That IS the issue. Even then, our backs both still average 4+ a carry.
As for the sacks... again, what am I missing? There were 64 QBs who have taken 11 sacks or more coming into this week. Allar had 8, now has 11. That's not alot, and half of them are because he held the ball too long
For refrence, Clifford was more of a running QB and THE LEAST he was ever sacked was 17 times. In 2021 he was sacked 30 times. Allar through 8 games? 11. Somehow you think that's worse... seems like a bit of historical bias
@roaminglion we’ve won 7 games and not counting Delaware and UMASS 4 teams we beat their defense ranks outside the top 50. It’s an average OL just like the last 8 years. I’m not down on the OL it’s about as good as it’s goi g to get playing in the big 10. I’ve told ya, Saban even complains about his OL. It is what it is
You are blind if you think this is the same OL from 2019, 2020, or 2021. Absolutely blind.@roaminglion we’ve won 7 games and not counting Delaware and UMASS 4 teams we beat their defense ranks outside the top 50. It’s an average OL just like the last 8 years. We’ll find out how good our lines are in two weeks, Meatchicken will most likely score more than 17 to 20 points. I’m not expecting things to go well for the home team.
