@cohappy I’m sure there’s a few things that went into him getting fired but imo the shit hit the fan when we lost to UCLA and NW and I also believe if Ohio State and Oregon was the only losses James Franklin would still have a job at Penn State.
Losing to only OSU and Oregon would have given him a pass till the playoff but he had better win at least two games or it would have been the same end result.

Your expectations are ridiculous. The only major CFB program that has hired a coach is VT and the only reason for that is because he is currently unemployed. No coach we would want is going to jump ship in the middle of his season.
@psujoe Penn St doesn’t have the recruiting grounds that LSU and Florida do. It’s good but nothing like the southeast plus LSU can go into Texas. Penn St needs to be more aggressive in gettin a coach to keeping the recruiting classes together. If you don’t believe me go look at what we’ve lost vs what LSU and Florida have lost.

What you’re saying makes absolutely no sense but that’s ok. I’m an idiot for thinking losing every high profile commit you have for the last two classes is a bad idea. I’m also an idiot for thinking a very public very high profile coaching search has yielded nothing but candidates who have leveraged Penn State to get extensions. All of this doesn’t even take in to account the players that were loyal to Franklin much like the commits that will leave when the portal opens. I shouldn’t worry though because of anonymous group of donors will save the program. We’ll land Deboer transfer in half of Alabamas team and resign all the commits we lost with the rainfall of money that will be here in late December.

I want a coach that fits in at Penn State and whoever I believe will win NC’s and be competitive every year and there’s 1 coach out there that has a track record at Penn State for having a top notch defense and that’s Manny Diaz. Manny ain’t never had the opportunity like what Penn St has to offer if he gets it he will take us to the promise land and win NC’s. Should’ve got this done 3 weeks ago. Kularrow...The money men getting back involved...And they are...Is HUGE!...And YES...They will use their clout to pony up the money necessary to bring in those big time players...This is what the current state of big time college football is today...It's not like it was 10 years ago when signing players out of high school was the end all and be all...These kids are changing teams every season now...I have faith these guys are going to bring in a big time coach that is going to reinvigorate the program and take them to the elite tier where this program belongs...I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bring in one of these high profile guys who just signed extensions and buy them out and make them one of the top paid coaches in the country...I am 100% certain whoever these folks covet as their #1 choice they will get...They have the money and clout to make whoever it is they want an offer they can't refuse...I fully expect that to happen...The only question I have is the same one everybody else has...Which one of these guys do they covet the most? Whoever he is that is who the next Penn State Head Football Coach is going to be...I am also sure whoever it is this coach is going to be a Big Time Hire...These money guys ain't going to play around...They will bring in their guy...Like I said...They got a billion dollar investment going on right now between the stadium and facility renovations...Don't think for a second these guys are going to dick around with some middle of the pack coach...Not with that kind of investment being poured into the program...I promise you...Money ain't going to be an issue here...

The big money is indeed in place. The sky is definitely not falling and I still haven't got my target buck.
Here's what I know:
Tom Brady is/was the #1 choice but there's a fear he'll pull a B O'Brien and bolt back to the NFL. Last night's loss to Houston hasn't bolstered his stock.
Hartline and Drink are still solid 1A back ups with Hartline having the edge.

We needed to see what our CJF payout was going to be before any deals were made.
