Our loss to Kentucky was not a bad omen for this year, and I don't expect this bowl game to be any indication either. Texas beat Georgia last year in the Sugar Bowl, didn't really matter this year. I don't expect this bowl game to matter any more than last year. Maybe for recruiting momentum, but that's it.
Alabama lost to Utah in 2008 when they were part of the MWC... Alabama went undefeated the next year and won the National Title.

That's a lot of typing not to say much.... PSU winning or losing this bowl game will have absolutely zero to do with the 2020 season.
Penn state is a 7 point favorite against Memphis. Memphis is no pushover and they are fast. After watching some of their highlights, they do have enough weapons to give penn state fits.

Playing Memphis reminds me of an OOC game to start the season. People can say what they want these games are hard to get players excited about and to be honest I would rather be playing Alabama or Auburn. Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan got the good games this game is crap and everybody knows it including James Franklin. James Franklin will get more questions about the competition of this games than the game itself and that’s a distraction and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why these scumbags give Penn State this game.
The only thing penn st can do is take it out on Memphis and stomp ‘em in the ground. You can only play who they match you up with.

That's the problem with highlight films, they cherry pick the good plays. I'm sure if you look at just the PSU highlights, you'd think they wouldn't have a problem with Memphis.

I'm excited about the game I'm just frustrated with the system and how we get to this point...
The system stinks but I will still enjoy the game. If I can enjoy the buffalo game I dang sure can enjoy this one but It’s not a game like playing a SEC team.

I’m talking about the way these bowl games are set up, it stinks that Penn State doesn’t get a power 5 team like Alabama. Michigan and Minnesota get Auburn and Alabama and we get Memphis. No disrespect to Memphis because they are good for the conference they play in they just don’t need to be in the cotton bowl. Just my opinion though
