Maybe things will change with Allar coming back?

@southern-psu-fan Better than who? And the article says JF already whiffed on Singleton so that’s part of the reason we’re going after guys from FIU and Ohio.

@psujoe I was listening to stuff on YouTube through my radio on Penn St and reading different articles about the WR’s and got mixed up. My bad.

Y’all hear me out here. Have you ever thought nothing might not be wrong with the WR’s we have and the guys we’re looking at know they probably can’t beat out Wallace, Saunders, Clifford and evens?  We’ve already run off Lambert Smith which was a big mistake imo and replaced him with an Ohio St WR Flemming and this dude ain’t as good as the WR’s we got and had. I’ve been trying to tell everybody that DA was the problem not the WR’s. How many WR’s are we going to miss on before we figure out it might not be the WR’s fault we can’t throw down field? 2 years later I believe DA is finally getting better and as he gets better the WR’s play will get better. Lambert Smith was a huge loss if we had that dude this year we probably would be throwing down field all game if we wanted too. Clifford and auburn didn’t a problem throwing down field to him. Not being dominant in the WR position right now is self inflicted because we ran one of our studs off lambert Smith. James Franklin didn’t forget how to recruit just WR’s brother you bet on your ass on that. On offense, you’re only as good as your QB thank goodness he’s playing better.

@southern-psu-fan I agree KLS would have easily been the best WR on this team this year, look at his Auburn stats but it is what it is. Marques Hagans was supposed to come in and enhance the room and recruit NFL level talent out of Virginia. We lost KLS under his watch and Fleming was a bust. You can’t tell me you look at Oregons WRs and Ohio States WRs then compare them to ours and you see similarities? I disagree. If your goal is to win the Big Ten look at what those programs are doing at Wideout. No disrespect to Liam Clifford but he couldn’t walk on at OSU. Allar has made big plays down field when the recievers are open. A lot of the times, these guys can’t break stride to open for Allar to make the throw, they’re Locked up in coverage while the pocket collapses. Wallace is a solid Receiver but he’s no Jahan Dotson. If I were building a room, I’d want it to look like Hamler, Dotson and KLS not Wallace, Evans and Clifford but that’s me.

@southern-psu-fan I’m convinced the alleged WR issue is more the QB than the wr’s and also think Allar has a bad reputation that’s going to keep PSU from signing any big name wr’s from the portal.

Didn’t KLS bad mouth Allar on his way out? I’m sure he’s not helping us right now. You have to also wonder if some of these other receivers that have come and gone have had detrimental things to say behind the scenes.

Give me one Godwin and I'd be happy. It's been so long since we've had a legitimate tall, strong WR.

@roaminglion  you and 130 more teams out there would like to have 1 Godwin. I’m not comparing our WR’s to Godwin but I do believe our WR’s are good enough to play at 98% of the schools out there today.Flemming probably seen the field more at Ohio State than he has at Penn State and this is his Sr year.

Only 1 WR from Penn State during the portal era transferred and did anything at another school: Lambert-Smith. And he was our #1 WR. That's it. Everyone else sucked wherever they went. So no, I don't think our WRs could go anywhere and play, only one ever has and he was the best we had last year.

K-Lambert Smith 2024: Transfer receiver from Penn State … 50 catches for 981 yards, 8 TD for the season … second team all-SEC ... 176 career receptions for 2,655 yards, ... But he sucks after Clifford graduated.

He sucks after Clifford? Really?????? That's hilarious!

In his last year with Penn State, with Allar passing the ball he had the most receptions of his career, the most receiving yards in his career at PSU, and equaled his highest TD total while at PSU.

So tell me... how does the most yards, most TDs, and most receptions in his time at PSU equate to him "sucking" the season after Clifford left?

Oh, you mean the Peyton Thorne that lead Michigan State to an 11-2 season and beat Clifford when he was there? The Peyton Thorne that threw for more yards in a single season at Michigan State than Clifford ever did? That Peyton Thorne?

@roaminglion I actually thought he was pretty good at Michigan St but the speed in the SEC has given him problems and he’s one of the reasons Auburn is struggling I’ve watched him a few games this year and he doesn’t look like the same QB.

Thorne and Bo Nix are 2 QB’s that I can think of that had success in the PAC 12 and Big 10 and struggled playing in the SEC. I’m sure Thorne probably struggled against a couple of teams in the big 10 too but he’s really struggled in the SEC.

check out the defensive side of the ball pretty much all SEC. These numbers don’t lie homer.

Check who 1-3 is all SEC teams. IMO the transfer portal and NIL money will change these numbers but for the last 20 years the SEC has dominated college football.

@psujoe  most of the time the difference in the top dawgs on defense regardless of conference is the speed of the players is what it has to do with. Most of them studs in the NFL are bigger, stronger and faster. Going from college to the NFL the biggest adjustment is the speed of the game. This is NFL players saying this it ain’t just me.

And it’s been proven over and over on the college football field that you brainwashed idiots screaming that bullshit are just plain full of it.
The main advantage SEC colleges have over other schools  and leagues is coaching. They want to win more and are willing to pay top dollar for the best coaches.

Bo Nix and Peyton Thorne, SEC Speed? Lmao.

Here's another example: Joe Burrow. Couldn't start in the Big Ten and won the Heisman in the SEC

Will Levis was our backup, and at Kentucky became a first round draft pick.
