He is 4th is yards per attempt, 5th in completion percentage, and 5th in QB rating. The issue is he only averages 23 passes per game. That's it. We really don't throw the ball all that much, but when we do he gets a lot of yards per attempt. The problem we seem to have is connecting more with the WRs. We throw fine to the RBs and TEs, but not the Wide outs. Some people think it's Allar, but I don't. You don't have numbers like he has if you don't know how to throw. He throws fine, and from what I have seen the WRs have a difficult time getting open consistently. Sure, they get open sometimes and you can point to plays where Allar missed them... but more often than not they are not getting seperation. I've noticed a good chunk of the WR receptions have been on scrambles too. Pocket collapses and the QB (Pribula or Allar) buys time and then a WR comes open. That's a bad sign IMO, it shows WRs need extra time getting open. I also think it's holding out running game back. If we even had just one guy on the outside that gave a defense any semblance of hesitation... our offense would be so, so good. Formations and trickery only take you so far. No OC is good enough to compensate for WRs that just cant get seperation. The DC on the other side is doing his job too, and knows how to stop formations and tricks. In the end, I think Franklin's decision to bring in the WR coach from UVA was a mistake. I don't see anything this man has done, in recruiting or on the field, that merits his hire.
