I think Chesney stays at UCLA as long as the momentum keeps moving forward. Dude has the Cali look, probably connects with recruits very well, helluva coach at all stops. Rrecruiting is the big thing, CA is a hot bed and it's not like pulling guys into State College.

There’s consequences when you make bad decisions and you lose football games in today’s NFL style college football. I know y’all think I’m being hard on the coaches but it’s deserved imo after me finding out how Amare Cambell was treated when we had to win this year and everybody knows it. Make good decisions and win or get left behind there’s no room for what I think happened at Penn St and how some of the Penn St players were done. It’s about having and doing everything possible to have the best players..period! We didn’t do that and Penn St football is paying the price. I ain’t cutting anybody any slack if they ain’t doing everything possible to win.

We’ve now struck out on all 4 priority QB targets for the class of 2027 and from what I was told today we don’t have the funds to go after significant QB’s in the portal.

Southern - here is where I think Penn State went wrong. Like it or not, they should have never fired JF mid season. That created a mess for MC to clean up before he even had one practice. It also showed instability in the Penn State program which pushed potentially good players in a different direction. Yes, JF was frowned upon for not being able to win the big games, but hey, lets look at it a different way. In today's world of a 12 team playoff, Penn State probably would have been in the playoffs 8 times under JF . If that would have been the case, would JF been fired last year? I doubt it. JVP started out 0-6 in the Big 10 twice - back to back - and even when people were saying Joe must go, he wasn't fired. The following year he went 11-1 and had they had instant replay, he would beat Michigan and went 12-0 that year. Yes , JF is not and will never be JVP, but if he was producing playoff teams, he would still be there and Penn State probably would be sitting at 7-0 right now.
I am not sure about MC, he seems very stubborn and I think he has a lot to prove in a much shorter time than JF had. I don't see him at PSU in year three if there isn't a strong finish to 2026 and a better 2027. I get the "building a foundation" thing he is saying, but it needs to start now and he needs to win the rest of the games this year.

NFL coaches get fired all the time after the playoffs. With all them studs we had coming back last year dudes would be standing in line to get the Penn St job baby. The new system caught up with James Franklin in 2025 that’s why we already were losing to UCLA and NW I’ll give him the Oregon game which I really shouldn’t because we had the better team James Franklin was just showing favorites with players. McSoreley, Barker, Parsons and Grunkenmeyer are just a few I can think of that were sitting the fudging bench until the shit hit the fan and everybody could see they were better players than the dudes playing in front of them and this shit can’t happen unless you ain’t about winning. And now I believe we’re finding out we just hired a coach that’s doing the same shit maybe worse because anybody with a half of brain knows Penn St has better players than Iowa St and to find out some of our studs from the JF era left because Matt Cambell was playing favorites with his players from Iowa St is worse than what James Franklin did because we run future NFL guys off for guys that won’t get to the NFL and it only takes running a few off to cause the shit we’re watching on Friday and Saturdays. JF was showing favorites with future NFL studs while MC was showing favorites with guys that aren’t future NFL studs that why it’s worse imo. I’m a damn truck I ain’t seen all the film on all these teams and players I trusted MC and a few others but these dudes should know better and they’re being paid Millions of dollars to make good decisions and it ain’t happening. When you use the word prioritize don’t that mean that’s your guy and if that’s the case that’s who’s getting paid the most money? This is the NFL so it needs to be treated that way. Since Manny Diaz was brought up I’ll address that. If we hire Manny when I wanted too odds are good the team stays together because Manny recruited some of these studs on the team and we don’t lose the whole 2026 recruiting class but the biggest thing there’s a damn good chance we’d be 7-0 right now. Is it true Pat Kraft probably didn’t want Manny because of something that happened when he was at Rutgers? I like MC because he’s showed more respect to the goat Joe Paterno the first week he was at Penn St than both of the other coaches combined but after finding out what happened with Grunk and Amare Cambell he basically did the same thing James Franklin did just in a different way letting the Penn St guys walk because he wanted the Iowa St guys.
