I agree Roam. Playing Alabama the 2nd game of the season will be different than playing them in the playoffs. When it’s nitty gritty time the big boys will kill the smaller teams. If Ohio st gets killed 31-0 by Clemson how would a MAC champion Hold up in a playoff game lol

We don't know because everyone is afraid of a real playoff...

Some may be afraid of a "real" playoff, but no one is the way you have it set up.

Alabama and Clemson aren't scared of playing the champions of the MAC or Sun Belt, they just rightly view it as a complete waste of time. It's absolutely ludicrous to put those leagues on the same level as Power Fives. Everyone knows it.

I have no interest in watching a Sun Belt team get their a$$ clobbered every single year just so once every blue moon they may win one. If you are going to do that type of playoff, then make the conferences balanced otherwise you are giving other schools way too much of an advantage.

The talent gap is just to big to have a real playoff in college football IMO. Football is more physical than basketball and baseball and all the other sports. In the lower divisions of college football the talent level is somewhat the same. If you look at the big dawgs you have NFL talent all over the field when Akron might have one guy that might make the NFL. Even Michigan state couldn’t hold up when they made the playoffs. I told everybody that when Michigan and penn st got back strong Michigan state would fall off and  go back to 7 to 9 wins seasons. That doesn’t mean they can’t have some good wins it’s just going to be hard for them to win the conference again.

See I'm not worried about what you like or want to see...

I agree that those teams are not as deep as an Alabama or a Clemson etc but the do have talent and rosters that put in the same amount of hard work all year long... Their conference champions deserve an opportunity to compete for a championship in a real playoff.

Penn State was the better team then OSU that year and this so called playoff system that relies on people to pick the four best teams failed.  It's is a joke of a system.

No they don't, they don't deserve to play in a playoff. It's like saying the minor league teams deserve to play in the MLB playoffs because "they work hard" and "have good players". Simple fact is they don't play the good teams week in and week out and you want to reward them for it. If you want to have a playoff like that, then restructure the conferences.

"See I'm not worried about what you like or want to see..."

Well I'm not worried about what you like or want to see either... so there 🤣 🤣 🤣

Then let them start their own playoff and let the power 5 teams have their's.  Never gonna happen because no one will watch!
