@rip  Yurcich had a QB that the defense had to worry about last year taking off and running. This ain’t the big 12 the QB doesn’t get 12 seconds to throw the ball.

Your right about that, Southern.  Maybe we should give Pribula a chance.  Frankly, I don't understand why Jimmy didn't put him in for a series or two against OSU.  Maybe changing up like that would have disrupted the Suckeyes defensive game plan.  Anyway, I still think Yurcich belongs on the sideline, not up in the box.

@roaminglion I could give a rip about those other 3 guys...He ain't developing this guy...He is doing a terrible job as the OC in my opinion...I have seen nothing from this guy since he got here...As a matter of fact I think the kid is regressing...His footwork is worse now than it was at the beginning of the season and that is why he is missing throws...Every year there is an excuse for this guy...This year the excuses are gone...I would fire his rear end ASAP...I have seen enough of him...

This guy is a true sophomore starting his 7th game. You need to push back from the highlight shows where every kid looks like a superstar that took 3 games to get good.

Some kids do well right off the bat, most others don't. That's how it works.

I'm not saying that I am not disappointed, but I'm not going scorched earth because Allar lost a game.

I'm not either, but with how far south things went on Saturday, I'm really surprised we didn't see anything of Pribula.  Especially with Franklin talking about some "special packages" we have for him.  Either Jimmy was blowing smoke or I dunno.  Seems like it was worth a shot.

@rip  1 for 16 on 3rd down smh..I love him but James Franklin did let another QB McSorely sit the bench because he didn’t want to bench a 5* QB. I hope that’s not what he’s doing now. How did Pribula not see the field when you know Allar was struggling big time? Benching him will help him fight harder for the starting position. There should always be competition going on at every position…period! Ain’t no position safe at Alabama just ask Jalen Hurts

Agreed on all counts.  For the life of me, I can't see how Pribula didn't get a shot.

Everything read about Pribula prior to coming to PSU was that he is a winner and that is what is brings to the table. You can't teach that. My guess is there is concern that it creates a firestorm when in fact he should come in as a compliment package. And by the way the dude can throw the ball. And yeah, I'm sure the coaches know best and all that can be thrown out the door. My guess is he hits the portal after the season if he is a gamer.

Also isn't there like 7-8 4 star WRs on the team, if so, what's up with not having one that can create separation one way or the other?

I'd like to see what an OC like Warren Ruggiero could do with the talent that is on the O side of the ball.

This whole WR's not getting separation argument to me is a red herring...You can create separation through motion and formations...He may be a guru who had great success other places...I only know what I have seen here...This kid has regressed since week 1 in my opinion...He doesn't put these kids in a position to succeed...This offense has no imagination...Maybe it is Franklin and he is tying this guys hands...I have no idea what the situation is there...I only know what I see and what I see ain't good...Let me ask you fella's one question? An emotional game like that...You know the defense is going to be overcommitting in pursuit of the football...How many misdirection plays did this guy call? maybe fake a sweep and slip the tight end out on the other side down the seam? I didn't see one...I could be wrong...This is one of the best defensive units PSU has had in years in my opinion...You hold that team to 20 points considering the field position they were given most of the game and how lobsided the T.O.P. was...I am sorry but my opinion hasn't changed and I am keeping an open mind and seriously taking into account what the forum is posting...This O.C. has to go...He isn't the right fit here...I just wonder why he is here if he was so terrific...Why did the other teams let him leave?

If he was so terrific why did OSU or Texas let him leave? He was at each stop for 1 year? Don't sound like they were too enamored with him either...I think he sucks and can't be fired soon enough for me...

Does it really matter who the OC is ? Since JF has been the head coach we’ve seemed  to have the same issues no matter who is in that position. For whatever reason Moorhead was the only one that was able to break the mold  and do his own thing.

The coach fromOSU brought him to Texas. Lol, trying to make it sound bad.

"You can create seperation with motion..." Keep saying it enough times and maybe it will become true. Lmao

Yup, but to a point. There is a reason great coaches still couldn't win NCs and big games without talent. They needed the players.

You didnt see Saban winning 10 a game with the player he inhereted at Alabama.

As they say, it's not about the X's & O's, it's about the Jimmys & Joes.  Or as Lou Holtz said about his experience at William & Mary - "  Too many Mary's and not enough William's".

3rd year, and the first he went 7-6. The previous year they were 6-7.

@southern-psu-fan Also... Gene Chizik was 38-38 as a head coach. The one season he had Cam Newton? 14-0.

Look at Jimbo Fisher... what's he done without Jameis Winston?

talent matters but you can do things schematically to assist your players in getting open...And yes that is a true and factual statement...Many players who are not the most talented scored many a touchdown because a coach had the mental capacity to set them up in a formation to break em loose or put em in motion to get em open...This guy does none of that...He hasn't done anything to help these guys get into a position to succeed...That is bad coaching and I don't care how you slice it...That is coaching and football 101...period
