Welcome to Happy Valley!  Very glad you decided to take this position.  Hopefully early on in your tenure here you will begin watching lots of tape of what this offense did, or did not do.  If you feel the need to bring in a new Offensive Line Coach to run your system more effectively, I am steadfast behind that decision, should you choose to make it (please make it).  Once again I'd like to welcome you to Happy Valley.

Bob,

Franklin would make that call not the new OC...  The OL coach is not going anywhere.

So please stop with the open letter BS like it means something.  The OC will build on Franklin's scheme and vision of how the offense will look.  It will be like when Rahne took over, he added his twist/additions to the offense.

Easy there old fella!  No BS anywhere to be found, other than your response.  The OC is in charge of the O, which means all the coaches under his wing.  Many of us here on this forum believe that the line has under performed for many years and recommend replacing the coach.  Just because I reiterated what I've been saying for months does not make it BS.  Lets wait and see what happens, it very well could, or maybe not.  Time will tell.  As far as Franklin goes ... he will listen to the advice of what his coordinators tell him.  And if Ciarrocca can present a good enough reason to do so, with statistics to back it up, then it will happen.  This is big time college football, and Franklin wants nothing but the best for this team.

BS again... Franklin's team, his OC, his call and he is not firing the OL coach.  If he was he would have.

The OC will listen and take the orders from Franklin not the other way around.  Franklin already set that tone with his parameters for hiring an OC.

If Rahne does not take the HC job we would have the same staff.  It was big time college football before this guy and Franklin was doing what was best for the team then.  Bottom line is OC is not making any position coach fires or hires.

It will be interesting to see how Limegrover and Coach C work together. Coach C arrived in Minn a year after Limegrover left so he was working with some of the holdovers from the Limegrover line. Either he liked what he inherited or he didn't, not that it matters right now but if he sees something he didn't like at Minn at PSU, something is gonna change.

I  think the new OC will get with Limegrover, Seider, Parker, and Bowen during the off season and iron out a solid game plan that fits Franklin's offensive philosophy.

If he didn't liken our OL performance hopefully it was talked about during the interview process.  If he did like it ... ditto.

Good hire

I think you will see the line improved next year. I say that because this OC likes a bit more straightforward running, so I am willing to bet we will see Cain pounding the ball down people's throats by design. Add to that the RPO and some more medium passes, it could be a very dynamic offense in 2020.

What I felt were are weaknesses last year is supposedly what this guy does well. Less 3 and outs, more consistency, wide outs involved, and a bit more dedication to the power run. Add that to our explosive plays and inside game with the slot and TE... Offense could be unreal.

The OL has got better every year since Limegrover got to penn st. With guys leaving early for the NFL we also had new faces on the OL.  11-3, 11-2, 9-4 and 10-2 the last 4 years, IMO you can’t win that many games with a bad OL plus we were in position to win probably 6 or 7 of the games we lost and IMO the OL ain’t the reason we lost it was not catching or taking care of the ball is the reason we lost.

navylion, you ready to watch a beat down on Memphis? Lol
