Get a load of this BS:

"he league’s Athletic Directors have voted to preserve the integrity of the ACC Football Championship Game by evaluating each of the three teams in contention (Clemson, Miami and Notre Dame) based on a nine-game conference schedule"

So basically they rerouted teams to play others, but didn't think it would serve the integrity of the championship game to have Miami play ND instead?

So now ND gets to go to the championship game of a conference they aren't technically in, and didn't have to play Miami... who if they beat them would create a 3 way tie. Yup... "integrity"

I think it is all a setup to get Notre Dame into the ACC, cater to them but I would like to see Clemson whoop them.  I root for anybody playing them.

All of this is a farce...Plain and simple...eye tests, last minute rule changes and all the elaborate machinations these leagues try to justify to satisfy the money people makes all of this truly a sham...When games actually start to matter again I will watch the CFP and until that time I'll pass...This has been a sham since day 1 and it will continue to be a sham as long as they limit the number of teams to 4...EVERY other division in college football has at least 8 teams...Until people stop watching this sham of a playoff it will continue on...I would rather watch paint dry than watch, support or give the slightest legitimacy to this farce...I am actually shocked by how many reasonably intelligent people buy into this bullbutter...How much more must go on before all of you folks realize the system is rigged in favor of a few sacred cow teams and 2 leagues...Shocking that the network that runs the show is in bed with both of the leagues that get the special treatment...You think being partnered up with an SEC channel and an ACC channel has anything to do with it? It's sad that they have reduced this whole thing to a punchline to a bad joke...

Preach FD!!! It's been a farce since day one and always been heavily influenced by ESPiN but unfortunately those with blind loyalty to their teams or conference are unable to see it. I've always been a proponent of adding 4 more teams to the playoff but fear that the greedy and power hungry will find a way to ruin it again .

Agree. The 4 team format is a disgrace. You have 5 major conferences. What genius came up with 4 spots? It all comes down to money. It always does. Follow the money trail and you’ll find someone with their hand in the cookie jar.

Make the playoffs 8 teams. 5 major conference winners + 3 at large invitations. Make the first round home field advantage like every other level of college football. If they insist on keeping the bowl games, have the semifinals and finals be the major bowls on a rotating basis. Personally, I’d rather they keep home field throughout. I want to see those southern boys come play in Ohio, PA, Michigan, Indiana, etc. in December and January when it’s real football weather.

@cohappy I'm even going to prostitute myself and root for Syr tomorrow. I feel like a hypocritical slut and I haven't even done anything yet. Hope my conscience will let me sleep tonight.

History has shown ND to be the luckiest team.

Due to Covid this year, why not use the bowl system (all bowls) to be the playoff format and run with it? Even if Covid hits, just adjust the parings and move on. Actually I think this would level the field and there could be some interesting matchups; and no one can bring up the issue of class schedule.

I've been saying this since they came out with the first CFP model. Makes so much sense...

Only thing I would add is that one of the at-large teams has to be from a conference outside the Power 5. Independents don't count, they can fight it out for those two spots left (looking at you Notre Dame)
