I have quite a bit of grass to cut. I have a Husqvarna riding mower and overall it's done very good for me. I service it, change oil, filters, sharpen blades. Now, for my grass. Recently I've noticed brown spots that show up a day or two after I cut it. Sort of like it's burnt.  This week 3 showed up about 8-12 inches in diameter.  I googled it and came up with a few things that may be causing it.  1#, Exhaust gasses/ burns from stopping or pausing.  #2, fungus, mold. #3, gas leak,  but I checked into that. Not a leak found.  Apparently,  one source claims grass builds up under the deck from moisture and creates a white fungus that looks like cotton.  It later falls off and kills the grass. However I don't believe that.  Another source claims dull blades. I ruled that out. My blades were sharpened correctly.  This is the first time I've encountered this problem out of all these years.  Hmmm.

Could it be red thread? It’s a form of fungus. I have a similar thing and the spots showed up after a few days of very hot, high humidity weather and several thunderstorms that dumped a lot of water followed by hot and humid weather again?

My guess is a fungus at this time.  There are a few fungi out there.  Lately it's been very humid and hot, rains, sun comes out,  rains, gets hot, cools down.

Rhizoctonia is a common grass fungus. Hot humid weather with rain is perfect breeding ground.
