Struggling to keep a healthy team together and complete a full and healthy season. Another team that was once a perennial contender of state playoffs on the ropes of falling apart. SMH
This is the end result from lack of participation, towns falling apart, people moving away. CYO youth football organizations being discontinued, feeder schools being shut down. It all adds up.
Sooner or later the discussion and decision of school sport mergers have to come into play. I can name 6-8 local schools that will discontinue football within 3 years at the rate its going now. I'm guessing CTE has lots to do with it too. For the private catholic schools, tuition has increased dramatically in the last 5 years. What family can afford 24000 dollars for 4 years? The lawsuits against the diocese isn't helping either.
