@rip trust me brother, good OC like Moorhead and Yurcich will tell James Franklin to stick it where the sun don’t shine before they’d be on the sidelines as a puppet. IMO James Franklin only got involved in the play calling maybe on 4th downs if he didn’t like the play call. Donovan wouldn’t even go for that these dudes have to much pride especially Moorhead and Yurcich because they have good track records. Yurcich just didn’t work but he was in charge.

For the record I do believe Mike Yurcich should be fired. It wasn’t working and imo a change needed to be made. Don’t want to much turnover but if the WR’s and OL ain’t better next year they need to be shown the door. I wish Mike Yurcich nothing but the best and I’m sure he’ll find another stop and I’m pulling for him to tear it up. Just didn’t work at Penn St against the heavyweights.

OK, but if Yurcich deserved to be fired, Jimmy deserves to be fired too!  I believe he is just as responsible for the poor play calling because he had his his hand in it more than some of us would like to admit.  He even said himself in several interviews that game planning and play design is a "collaborative" effort involving the OC, analysts and HC.

IMHO if James Franklin was losing games he was supposed to win is when the hammer comes down on him. I’m just a regular fan but I can’t imagine James Franklin being involved in play calling unless it’s going for it on 4th downs just like I don’t believe he gets involved with the defense. I don’t believe Mike Yurcich would’ve taken the job to be a puppet OC. I don’t believe Diaz would’ve taken the DC job to work under them conditions either. It would be disrespectful and showing absolutely no confidence in who you hire. It would be a bad culture to work in if JF did that and guys like Diaz would never come here if that went on. It’s just my opinion that JF lets the coaches coach as he looks over the team. I don’t believe James Franklin is on the hot seat as long as he’s winning 10 or 11 games and Rose Bowls. I just don’t see it brother lol

Remember, Jimmy has a background in offense.  He's a former QB, former QB coach and former OC.  I think he can't let go, and that's why he keeps meddling in the offense.  He doesn't have defensive playing or coaching experience so he stays out of the DC's way.  I'm sure Diaz wouldn't put up with his interfering.  I don't think JoMo did either.  In fact as I said before, I think Jimmy kinda saw JoMo as a potential threat because of his  knowledge and expertise running an offense.
