The man has been in 12 Super Bowls and he has 8 winning rings and 6 of those rings he was the head coach. You just can’t luck up and coach in 12 Super Bowls. Most coaches and players never play in one Super Bowl. Where ever Bill Belichick goes he wins. There was 31 other teams that could’ve taken a chance on Tom Brady and they just didn’t see the talent and Bill Belichick did and you have to be good if not great to get drafted even if it’s the sixth round.

Stop saying he "took a chance" on Brady. The 6th round means no one took a chance on you, you are just drafting positions on your board at that point.

@roaminglion Interesting tidbit of useless knowledge, Brady was the 199th pick in the sixth round, the 205th pick in the sixth round was who???

Ja'Juan Seider from Florida A&M to the San Diego Chargers

I’m not saying he drafted Brady thinking he was going to win 6 Super Bowls but he did draft him to be the backup to Bledsoe and it didn’t take long for Belichick to see Tom Brady was the better QB after he got to play some meaningful snaps. Belichick has also been in 12  Super Bowls. You’ve got something going on when you play in that many Super Bowls I don’t care what anybody says. Belichick has been in more Super Bowls than Brady and parcels combined if I read everything correctly.

Belechik didn’t see anything, man stop making stuff up. Bledsoe got injured, that's why Brady played. Only credit I give Belechik there is he picked Brady as a backup.

I mean, yeah good job acknowledging what everyone else saw when Brady got a chance to play? My blind grandmother could have seen Brady was better than Bledsoe at that point. Never would have seen the field if Bledsoe stayed healthy.

Also, why are you acting like I am saying he's a bad coach? All I said is I am not calling him the absolute best ever if he continues to suck without Brady. And yes, his record without Brady sucks.

@roaminglion. That’s exactly what I said Roam. He drafted him to be the backup and when he got some meaningful snaps Belichick made him the starter so I’m not making anything up. Backups get meaningful snaps when the guy in front of him can’t go. Bottom line is Belichick built NE and won 6 Super Bowls and lost 3 and he won 2 other Super Bowls as a DC with your giants. Bill Belichick built the NE Patriots and he deserves 100% of the credit. Do you know how hard it is to argue that Belichick and Saban are 2 of the best ever at what they do lol y’all killing me

Okay, I'm done arguing things I never said. I NEVER said he wasn't one of the best, I did say I would not call him THE BEST EVER.

And no, he didn't build the Patriots. Bill Parcells did, handed them to Pete Carroll, and then to Belechik. Belechik took over a team that did not have a losing season in 5 years, so yeah you are kinda making up that he "built" them. They were already good, he went 5-11 in his first year, then Brady took over.

Again, I am not taking credit away from him. I am simply saying I am not calling him the best ever when it's quite obvious he had the GOAT playing QB for him. A QB who just won another Super Bowl without him.

@tsuga

All I know is that my kids new the words to all of his songs and I might have recognized one!

What part of the country do you live in again?  I just did a 100 mile snowmobile run yesterday to the Western Rim of the PA Grand Canyon.  Past a sign that said God's Country....and dang was it beautiful up there!  Didn't see any deer at all, lot's of tracks in the snow and I assume the 1000 snowmobiles had them hiding?!!!

I'm up in Maine, near the town of Rangeley. Im close to the Canadian border.

The grand canyon country is beautiful!!  Can only imagine how pristine it looks in the snow. Winter is a tough time for the deer population. They're out there, I try not to jump them. You did the right thing, observe their tracks and keep moving lest you push them, tire them, and make it easier on the coyotes to get 'em.

@southern-psu-fan...I didnt read all these posts southern, so  accept my apologies if previously covered  BUT, You didnt have Vince LOmbardi, (ST. VINCENT ) in top 5?...

He's numero uno for me...Not only the championships, (I believe  he never lost a playoff game after '60 Eagles NFL title game)  but just the way he  had his teams prepared  to play..Sometimes you have to go beyond the records to see how great a coach is, and that is where I think LOmbardi excelled above all others.  His teams could do everything, rock ribbed defense, beast of an OL, running game par none with Hornung, and Taylor, passing game in Starr to Dowler, Dale, McGee...In summary, no  aspect of the game was ignored, he had the most perfect teams I ever saw, just the way  you would design the perfect football team on  a drawing board..

Did you not see his teams, just think he didnt belong on top 5, or did you forget him?

For a guy who keeps talking about stats and titles as the reason Belechik is #1, I find it interesting that you don't have Lombardi in your top 5 considering he won 5 titles in 10 seasons and never once had a losing season.

NFL Football has evolved since the 60’s and it’s a much tougher game today plus we have more teams and play more games. The competition in the NFL is so tough it’s dangerous it’s the most competitive sport in the world. Vince was a great coach but to compare him to my top 5 NFL coaches is like comparing Knute Rockne to Joe Paterno or Bobby Bowdon lol ain’t happening. I do believe the NFL is where it is today because of Vince he’s definitely a legend

@roaminglion. 12 Super Bowls roam. Belichick  has been part of winning Super Bowls since 1986 for goodness sakes. 4 freaking decades  winning rather being head coach or DC. And the giants was winning the Super Bowls under parcells because of Belichicks nasty defenses. I would expect nothing less from Tom Brady winning another Super Bowl with another team because he learned from the best Bill Belichick.

But SPF, it was Lombardi's image they used to open the super bowl, not Billy Beli, so apparently some folks think Lombardi's pretty good too.

@been-there-ii. He was great and the NFL is what it is today partly because of Lombardi.

I stopped listening when you started crediting Belichek with Super Bowls he went to as an assistant.

Somehow now Parcells has only won Super Bowls because Bill Belichick was his DC. SMH 🤦‍♂️

@southern-psu-fan There ya go! When they change it from the Lombardi Trophy to the Belichick Trophy, we'll revisit Belichick being the best. 🤣
