They haven't even sent out renewal info yet.  Must be still trying to figure out how much to raise our ticket & parking costs.

Best bet, find a season holder that isn't going. If you use 2nd party such as Stub hub, Ebay,  get ready for a big bill. Their fees and prices are ridiculous.  4-6 tickets from stub hub can put you close to 2 grand , especially a big game.  That doesn't include cost of food, beer.

You are asking the million dollar question Southern. From where you are coming from, I would say the first thing you need to do is secure a place to stay. Unless you are ok with a hotel 50 miles away, it is expensive to  stay in a State College and they force you into 2 and 3 night stays...IF you can get a hotel as most are booked way in advance. You can also look at Airbnb’s which is a much better option for your family and friends. I’ve done the RV thing with family and friends and had a great time. Unfortunately, RV space was dramatically reduced and spots on campus are just as difficult to obtain as tickets. There is an RV Park about 20 minutes outside of SC and they provide free shuttle service to and from State College and Beaver Stadium...not a bad way to go. As for tickets, they are always available, just a matter what you are willing to pay. For the white out game you are seeking, it will cost you a fortune so good luck. You could consider a less important, OOC game in September. Logistics are easier, the weather is summer like and you still get that awesome Penn State fall football experience.

My niece & her husband do the AirB&B thing.  Real nice place (wish I lived in a place like that).  Probably could hook you up.  Just saying.

Since you drive a truck for a living, I assume you can drive anything long of an F16 fighter jet so an RV is small potatoes. If you don’t own or know somebody with an RV, consider driving to Pennsylvania and renting one near State College like Pittsburgh, Harrisburg or even Erie. You will save a ton in mileage and gas. I can walk you through it should you like but as psumark said, Airbnb is your best option.
HOWEVER and in any case....If you make it to the magical land known as Happy Valley this fall, I’m coming even if I don’t make it to the game just to throw down a few barley & hops refreshments ( and I’m buying).

SPF, mid October is probably the nicest time to attend a game. Like Goldilocks, not too hot, not too cold and you being from the Hotlanta area probably wouldn't have the greatest time sitting in the rain/snow weather.... bring a plastic flask to get through the metal detectors if you decide to go in Nov.
