Mine was Air Force in 1962. Got to see Bill Bowes and Bud Yost  from my school. Don't remember any details of the game.

1971 vs. the Horned Frogs of TCU. Superstars were Qb John Hufnagel and Lyell Mitchell, Franco Harris was but a young budding talent.  I never liked Tennessee after they spoiled an otherwise perfect record capped off with a whooping of Texas. Ah....good times.

That was one of my first games too, where I went with friends, as opposed to being with Aunt and Uncle who had season tickets.  If my memory serves - Rick Mirer was ND's QB and ended up on the cover of SI laying in the mud surrounded by several Nittany Lion legs.  Also seem to remember walking down college avenue with the goal post that game too.  24-21 PSU .. sound right??  Craig Fayak kick for the win???

HA. I cant remember what i had for supper last night much less when my first game was.

It was either '54 or '55 cause I remember watching Lenny Moore play.  Im thinking '54 and it was against one of the Acadamies.

Just googled it.  It was '55 against Navy.

1972 Freshman year at PSU - Navy. We won 21-10.  Cappy was the running back.  His nick name was fumbletti.  We got the ball back most time.  He got an award at a basketball game after that season.  We all waited for him to drop it.  Of course, he won the Heisman the next year.

1991. Witnessed a total beat down of WVU by Dear Old State. I instantly fell in love with University Park and State College. It was the only school I ever wanted to go to and the only one I applied to several years later. I met my beautiful wife there and made lifelong friends, who I still talk to today. It was one of the best decisions of my life. I proudly display the diploma on my wall at home and wear some version of PSU gear almost every day, rain or shine. Now, we take our kids there every year and they love it. My oldest wants to go to PSU and work at The Corner Room because he loves their food. My youngest wants to play lacrosse for PSU. Who knows what their future holds, but attending that one game back in 1991 has impacted several lives. We Are....

1971.  I may have been around a month old.  My parents were graduate students at the time.  I don't know who the opponent was.  Come to think of it, I don't remember much about that game at all.

Not unless you mean 1991.

For whatever reason, North Carolina jumped right out to me.  When I look, Penn State only played North Carolina one time back in 1943 and I wasn't even thought of at that point. So it must have been NC State back in 1967.  I definitely remember standing against the fence ( we had standing room only tix) behind the team towards the North End Zone.  Don't ask me how I remember this, I just do!

I need to call my dad and get back to you guys! LOL

As I recall, if you were standing against a fence, you were standing on the track that circled the field.  Subsequently,  they added seats by raising the stadium and doing away with the track/fence.

Maybe you guys pushed us out!  We had a blue 1972 VW Beetle with 2 couples and a cooler full of Heiny inside.  We were parked in the lot directly behind the north end zone.   We did payoff with several cans of Heiny!

You are sort of correct - the 1990 game also ended 24-21 PSU winning and this was the game that Fayak had the game winning kick - the 1981 game Blackledge had a TD to win that game.  Wow my memory just ain't what it use to be.  I still remember the cover of some big time sporting magazine that had the QB laying in the mud from that game, although it wasn't Mirer, I can't even find that photo online.  Besides SI, and the Sporting News, what magazines were big back then??

Opps. Make that 1st game in the fall of '77, graduated in 80. Funny, memories are just a little fuzzy from back then.

Do you remember pushing a Winnebago out and getting a case of Stroh's??  A handsome guy got out to help you guys while his wife drove??
