My favorite win is Ohio st 2016, it took the place of the 05 win. My toughest loss was the Minnesota game back in 99, seems like it took forever for me to get over that game. BTW besides the NC wins
I'd have to say my favorite win was 2001 Ohio State. We won 29-27, coming back from 27-9 in the 3rd quarter to get Paterno #324. I was at the game, and knew a couple of guys on the team from my High School track & field days, specifically Shawn Mayer and Eric McCoo who both ran hurdles (400IH and 110HH). It was pretty awesome.
Toughest loss... I'd have to go with Iowa in 2008. 24-23 loss in the last second, to a 4 loss team when we were undefeated. Would have been in the BCS Championship game that year had we won, probably playing Oklahoma.
Best win: Pitt 1981. Pit was undefeated and ranked #1 going into the game. Dan Marino came out and threw two quick touchdowns. Marino came off the field arrogantly putting up both index fingers indicating that he was #1. I turned off the tv after that because I thought it was going to be a very long day and I'd have to face the Pitt supporters in my family when I saw them at Christmas. I turned it back on after about ten minutes. Marino threw two interceptions on the next two series and Blackledge & Co. managed to tie it up by halftime. The Lions only rushed three lineman for the rest of the game and dropped everyone back looking for Marino to keep throwing the long bomb and he didn't disappoint. The final score PSU 48 - Pitt 14. Seeing Marino and Coach Jackie Sherrill humbled was the best part.
The worst loss was probably the 1979 Sugar Bowl. PSU came in 11-0 and ranked #1 and Bama was 10-1 and ranked #2. When the Lions drove the ball to the one yard line and couldn't punch it in on four downs, that was very disappointing. Final score Bama 14 - PSU 7. Just about any of the four games that Joe coached against Bear Bryant could probably be substituted here although I didn't see the 1975 Sugar Bowl.
That’s the game I was watching when I became a penn st fan, I was 7 years old. My dads side of the family is from Piedmont al and although he’s a Georgia fan most of his side of the family are Alabama fans. That’s why I have a soft spot for Alabama lord knows I’ve watched a lot of Alabama games lol
Bingo ! My favorite win (Pitt), my most disssppointing loss ( Alabama) for all you just said.
Biggest win OSU last year toughest loss Minnesota 99
Favorite win was OSU in 2016 and worst loss was the 2004? Iowa 6-4 debacle. I was at both games.
Iowa, Clayborn, blocked punt to run it in for a TD. That was a HUGE game changer, set the tone for the momentum swing.
Favorite win: All of them-SWEET!!!
Toughest loss: All of them-Just so depressing!!!
Favorite win: 1987 vs. Notre Dame. It was colder than a well digger's ass that day. We won 21-20 when Lou Holtz went for two to win and and we stuffed them at the LOS.
Worst defeat: 1979 Sugar Bowl against Bama. I was at both games and still cant believe we lost that game.
