I really don't care what happens to Meyer's. What I do hope is, if Meyer's is found to be at fault and Ohio State let's him go, Ohio State doesn't self impose a bowl ban and/or that the NCAA doesn't step in do the same. The last thing I want is a Buckeye team limping into HV. I think this is going to be a great game and one that PSU can win. A bowl ban will take SOME wind out of this game and even Meyer's being let go will take some wind out of this game....which if deemed necessary, so be it.
When Temple and Maryland beat Penn State, they didn't beat Penn State - they beat a version of Penn State. I want Penn State to beat the OHIO STATE and not a version of Ohio State so I am keeping my fingers crossed the team is not punished..........just I like I to this today feel the Penn State team should have never been punished as well.
Think about it. When this all went down at PSU, those players at that time got to play w/o sanctions. It was the players that weren't even around then that got punished. The same will go ( for the most part) at OSU if any bowl ban would be imposed on them this year.
I haven't heard any indication at all that this is a possibility, I am just putting in my two cents if this end up on the table.
I hear that. Great competitors want to play great competition, win or lose. That said, as you can see with ongoing investigations at Michigan State and USC, the NCAA has stayed out of it. They will stay out of Ohio State’s way to having learned their lesson that they had no right to impose sanctions on PSU for what was a criminal matter.
I think it is safe to say that Penn State was the first test for the NCAA into this type of issue. They failed miserably, and obviously now take a more hands off approach.
Taking too long. My guess is Meyer will be back. Not saying I agree with it, but.
