I've got this social distancing thing down to a science. In fact, this weekend will be the first in many years that I'm not heading further north in order to escape all the "WEBS" (WeekEnd Bastards) that invade our fine state for Memorial Day. Here's to hoping that everyone is doing well and staying safe. May all your Crackling Coronas come from a bottle. BT: Any chance you can make the trip to Albany and bitch slap your weenie-assed Governor just for general purposes??

All good here, Tsuga! Been off the grid fishing the past few months and working remotely. Heading to FLorida this weekend for Tarpon and Snook. Caught a 5lb Large Mouth at Pinchot last Saturday night and had two stripers feed....sounded like MONSTERS. We haven't caught any stripers yet, the weather has caused a late spawn with the bait fish and the water is just finally getting clear from all of the rain. My neigbbor saw a Piebold deer near his tree stand over in Dallastown about a week or so ago. Me, I am just working at home and up to about 10 field mice with my Victor trap. I guess working in my basement has stired them up!!
We will change the scope of our conversations once they tell us football is on in the Fall. Not sure what it will look like, but I am sure we will know be months end. I just don't see a full stadium for any game this year....at all! My guess is they start with 20K fans and see how it goes from there. Probably based on your Giving amount each year and/or club points....who knows.

I would have liked to have done much more than just slap our illustrious governor. He decided needed to let some sex offenders (three of which were convicted of raping children) out of prison, 'cause he didn't want them catching Corona. I was ok w/ the low level drug dealers, 'cause you've got to be a willing buyer. Raping children is a whole different story.
I mowed twice, and got most of the garden in just in time for the Mother's Day snow and 25 deg. Glad I didn't have time to put the tomatoes in. PIMA Still haven't wet a line yet either, but boy have I got firewood!

I got my kitchen garden tilled and ready for the Mrs to plant today but our truck garden might not get done till the weekend. I'm already starting on next winter's firewood cause I dont move as quickly as I used to. In fact, I'd say I'm down right slow. Father time seems to be catching up. Good to hear from ya brother!!

@tsuga Hope to get the tomatoes in this weekend....and squash. The rest I succession plant. Just got the 1st harvest of asparagus last night. Nothing better than, fresh asparagus, fried brookies and morel mushrooms! lol I hear you on the firewood cutting. I'm working on cutting 2021's wood too. I do need to get this winter's split and in the barn. Has been too wet for the road to sustain the back and forth traffic hauling it in, looks like that'll change real soon.

Wayne didn't enlist, which is different from draft dodging. At first he received a 3-A status, which is "deferred for family dependency reasons". As Tsuga said he he was married with 4 kids at the beginning of the war. Many in similar situations received this status.
Later on, he was placed on 2-A status, which is "deferred in support of the national interest." Essentially, he had become a big Hollywood star for putting out military movies. Propaganda films that helped the war effort by boosting morale on the homefront.
He never lied or hid somewhere to get out of serving, all reasons were legitimate. Not a draft dodger.
