Agree but I can't see 4th Qtr TOP. I propose that for that short period of time our defense was on the field constantly. I am saying that the fatigue, if there was fatigue, was related to the 4th quarter TOP. We seem to have a culture of wearing out our defense. The offense did not give the defense a rest in the 4th. Maybe we rotated people in on defense to keep them fresh in the 1st half. Did we play the same 11 all of the 4th quarter? We likely had to when the game was close. We likely don't have great depth due to our coaching change etc?
Agree that we didn't get much pressure on a marginal QB. 1 Sack and it was not a typical sack by Rojas, it was a run the QB down and get him behind the LOS. I didn't see much complicated on our rushes. Rush 4, straight blitz from one LB... Stop the run, depend on our defensive backfield and poor QB/Receiver performance...We did get a poor Wisc Receiver/QB Performance. WISC dropped a lot of balls. Our defense had a better catch % than the W receivers.
I don’t know what some of you guys are seeing but the the PSU team I’ve been watching so far this season just doesn’t have the talent that i have gotten used to seeing in blue and white. Maybe some of those alleged underrated players we have all over the roster will end up panning out but IMO we need to step up our game in recruiting and the portal or what we saw on Saturday will become the norm.
Joe, that was a forgone conclusion I accepted. IMO this year is about TEAM, Culture, Good Schedule... 1-2 losses and the playoffs is/was a stretch. My prediction was 3 +/-1 loss. Not hearing 1-0 and COMPLIMENTARY is a win.
Could we have spent more $ and gotten better players, maybe but the time crunch put MC at a huge disadvantage. I expect Manske is as proven as Grunk. Guess I don't mind paying people that fit the culture...new rules. I do mind paying whores.

He made a lot of bad decisions once the pressure started getting to him. Bad reads lead to throwing into double and triple coverage multiple times throughout most of the game. He also didn’t see open receivers or over/under threw passes to them. He was rattled and it showed. And didnt he throw the Hail Mary at the end out of the end zone?
@psujoe it was a terrible weekend for sports homer..the falcons still stink, Pebblebrook lost, Villa rica lost, temple lost, my grandson’s Ranburne football team lost, Ga Tech lost and Penn St found a way to lose instead of finding a way to win…game winning drive and we choked and gas is over $4 a gallon..I just want to cry 😂

They are watching highlights, not actual games. I am sure they will try and say they watched 10+ games in totality every weekend but they don'tY’all are seeing something I ain’t because i don’t see any dominant teams out there I see all teams struggling with not much depth. There may be a few teams a little better but not much better. We had Wisconsin right where ND had ‘em we just had an OC that didn’t know how to put them away or just to fudging stubborn to keep People’s in at RB because we could’ve road to victory easy had Peoples been given the ball 30 times big runs will come when you pick up 5 yards a carry and it wears the defense down. Rocco wasn’t the reason we lost the coaching was. QB’s ain’t going to play lights out every game and when the QB is having a bad game and the RB is gettin 5 yards a pop feed that mother Fudger and feed him until they stop it which I could see Wisconsin wouldn’t have been able too. Sounds like pure “nonsense” to me. There will be a cold day in hell before “they” wastes his time watching 10 college football games a weekend.
I watch college football all day on a Saturday and I watch the weeknight games as well...So I will watch a game thursday and the friday night game...so that is 2...I watch the PSU game and depending on the kickoff if it's a noon kickoff I take in a 3:30 game the 7:30 game and then one of the west coaster that is on late...that is 6 games and I may catch parts of 2 other ones but that isn't the same as "Watching" the game...You are hard pressed to watch 10 college football games a weekend unless you are DVRing 4 or 5 games...Many compete in the same time slot so it is tough...I can tell you that I fear we don't have the horses to compete with these upper echelon teams...Judging by Saturday's performance I don't think my causes for concern are unfounded or unjustified...

I don't even think USC is an upper echelon team either...I saw that USC/Oregon game and Oregon just outclassed them and beat them with their backup who started for Nebraska last year and is considered one of the better young QB's in college football and he is their BACKUP...Hell he looks better than Becht does...Well they got a lot to fix and address this week...Campbell is finding out he ain't in Ames anymore...This is a totally different breed of cat...I said I was going to keep my cakehole shut til after the season...I can say that I am concerned and I believe rightfully so...

If 87,4 and 0 could catch the fudging ball we win that game easily they had 4 or 5 drops and it beat us when the game was on the line. Rocco didn’t play his best game but he showed up when the game was on the line and put the ball right where it needed to be and 87 and 4 didn’t catch the football they both choked plain and simple. The defense also choked and since we take pride in winning with defense these dudes and the DC needs to do a gut check because they choked as well. One big choke fest in the second half but it can be made up for by kicking the shit out of NW winning the next game is perfect medicine!
Lets revisit that game on Saturday...We scored 20 pts...The defense got us 7 of em...The offense got 13 points...We had 3 turnovers on defense...gifted the offense fantastic field position on several occasions in that ballgame...The juggernaut of an offense manages 13 pts despite being gifted fantastic field position several times...12 first downs...233 yards of total offense...114 yards passing...What is Peoples gonna run it, throw it and catch his own passes? Peoples had his best game of the year but if you think he is the messiah and going to cure all of this I am fearful ya'll are going to be very disappointed...We can be lucky Wisky hurt themselves all games with penalties as that bailed em out a little bit...9 whistles on Wisky...The defense played very well...The offense is a problem...I am not convinced we have the horses to compete...This was as bad of a loss as I have seen in a while...We'll see on Friday night but I am not hopeful...I am afraid they are going to march in there and get their ears knocked off...They play like they did this past Saturday this ballgame won't be close and Campbells ass will be on fire because his seat is going to start getting warm...

@roaminglion well you don’t believe in last minute drives to get the win when I do. So what if the kicker is 3 for 3 then missed a 35 yard field goal to win the game. Nothing the teams and players mean nothing if you can’t make plays when the game is on the line and you choke and lose unless you’re playing fantasy football. Just win baby means just that, nothing more and nothing less..find a way to win. Rocco put us in position to win and we didn’t catch the football. Doesn’t matter how good you play in sports if you can’t show up in crunch time when the game is on the line! I know some folk play fantasy football and that means more to you that winning the games but I’m all about winning and I ain’t never said anything otherwise. I close games there’s always 3 or 4 critical plays that dictate rather you won or lost.

Just going on your statement roam it’s sounds like you’d rather look good and lose than look bad and win. Doesn’t matter how bad you play if you find a way to win. Just win and get better the next week in practice. The passes matter when the game is on the line just like catching the ball matters.
You might be right brother but it did come down to the last series and we’ll probably have a few more games like that. It’s easy to make plays when you have the lead and there’s no pressure but can you get it done when the game is on the line? 44 did a few years ago and that’s exactly what I’m talking about baby.
The great Dale Earnhardt said “2nd place is just the first loser” 😂 had we lost that game because we just got run over I can handle that let’s get better but losing a game when you were in position to get the win just stinks but I don’t play fantasy football to care more about stats than winning 😂

@psujoe no different from a field goal kicker missing 3 Field goals in a game but drills the game winning field goal. The kicker had a bad game but come through in the clutch. Rocco put the ball right where it needed to be and we didn’t catch the football.
Of course there’s other reasons we lost the defense couldn’t get stops and we had blown coverage and the OC is just in way in over his head if he can’t see James Peoples is by far the best RB on the team and definitely gives us the best chance to win if he’s on the field but in the last 2 minutes in football when the games are on the line is when you see if you got guys that step up and make plays when there’s pressure. Some do and some don’t. Over the years we’ve had a shit pot full that did. The QB played his ass off the last 2 minutes that I did see.
