2015 NW we dropped the int to end the game with a win.

2016 Hamilton had the winning TD against Pitt right in his hands and he couldn’t make the catch.

2016 USC Bell dropped the int to end the game with a win.

2017 devastating penalty on #2 that give Michigan State the winner FG

2018 #21 dropped the int to end the game with a win.

2018 devastating fumble by boobie that give Ohio st a free TD

Here is 6 games that we should’ve won had we stepped up and made the play in Nitty gritty crunch time. It happens I’m just saying lol. Tough losses though

BTW I’m not down on these players because these same players have made many plays to help us win games. I’m just pointing out they were put in position to make a play and win the game but we just didn’t get it done, it happens.

I know what you mean, Southern.  I try to stay away from being overly critical of college players because after all, they're still kids and aren't getting paid (yet!).  On the other hand, I feel coaches are fair game.  Especially with today's astronomical salaries!

Thanks buddy but I just remembered these games because we lost. I don’t remember when other teams mess up and we win lol. I wonder what people opinion would be of James Franklin had we won these games because had we stepped up and made the plays these were wins instead of losses?

They are all fair game if you are going to criticize a coach you need to be able to criticize players for not executing.  Unless you think execution by a player does not factor into a win or loss?

After all coach cannot go out on the field and do it for them.

BTW I’m not down on these players because these same players have made many plays to help us win games. I’m just pointing out they were put in position to make a play and win the game but we just didn’t get it done, it happens.

100% spot on...  Execution of a play and making plays are just as important to winning or losing.

That said, I do think coaching comes into it a bit. I think you could make an argument that all of our dropped balls last year were, in some respects, due to poor coaching.

New WR coach in 2018, and all of a sudden our upper classmen can't focus and catch. New coach this year, drops are way down. I don't think that is a coincidence.

I agree that the players we have are still amateurs, kids, but at the same time if they do wrong on and especially off the field that hurts the team as a whole then they should be fair game.  Fair game for criticism, but not literally lambasting them like fans do with pro players.

These players have been catching footballs from pee wee league... Their job is to catch a football.

I agree coach can help and hurt but really a ball hits you in the hands it needs caught.
