Parity! It would be hard to argue that any conference has been dominant this season. If 2021 didn't convince the powers that be that playoff expansion is needed nothing ever will. I'm rooting for chaos tomorrow and losses by Meatchicken,Georgia and wins by Cincinnati,OK State.
There will be no chaos if Bama beats Georgia...They will just put both of em in...Oregon caught Ohio State at the right time...Their defense was in disarray and their QB was just getting familiar with the college game...If Ohio State played them today they would beat em by 3 touchdowns...Other than Ohio State losing to Oregon the B1G won most of their non conference games...Their losses came within the conference...Colorado almost and should have beat A&M and Minnesota drilled em 30-0 in their building...The SEC got their ears knocked off in their non conference games against power 5 schools...Georgia beat a mediocre Clemson and Bama beat a below average Miami...The rest of their non conference games were against the likes of Mercer, New Mexico State and the like...I honestly think the SEC is the #4 conference in the country...Auburn gave their game away against Bama...A 1 loss Michigan, Oklahoma State, undefeated Cincy and 1 loss Notre Dame have as much of an argument if not a better argument to be in the CFP than a 1 loss Georgia and a 1 loss Bama...In my opinion these are all playoff games...If you lose at this point your out...
@the-funeral-director In this current setup with only a 4 team playoff I believe conference championship games should be counted as part of the playoff. To be eligible for the playoff you have to play in and win a conference championship and if you lose in that game you're eliminated.

Just sounds like a bunch of verbal gymnastics to make the Big Ten seem great. I didn't even mention the SEC, but you just can't stop yourself from bringing them in to every discussion.
I'm sick of the "if they played them today" crap. They played, Ohio State lost. That is a fact, and just because you think "they would beat them by 3 touchdowns" doesnt make it so. People thought OSU would boat race Michigan... look how that turned out.
Either on field results matter or they don't. OSU lost. Wisconsin lost. Purdue lost. These were the only OOC games the Big Ten played against currently ranked opponents. It is what it is, the Big Ten isn't some superior conference and doesnt deserve any greater consideration than anyone else.
Enough of the 4 team BS, 8 or 12 teams would be enough to get rid of this

I don't care about the SEC. I never said they were better, I said the Big Ten wasn't as good as some in here want to think, and that I am sick of arguing about which conferences are deserving of 4 spots. It's just nonsense.

I think it’s fun having the fans something to argue about that’s what makes sports fun. I don’t care which conference champ gets left out of the power 5 as long as 4 power 5 conference champs are fighting in out so until we get 8 teams just put 4 power 5 conference champs in or if you want to add the conference Cincinnati is in then go ahead at least you have to win something to get in the playoffs.

Yeah, it's so dumb to consider that a team lost to Oregon as concrete fact and not consider "they would beat them by 3 touchdowns because I say so" as gospel.
Oh yeah, And learn up the definition of comparison. I didn't compare the 2 teams, I said it was one data point in a sea of other data points that Indicate the big tent is no better than any other conference.
My argument is that NO conference deserves 2 teams in EVER...Why are they even being considered? Why is any team that isn't a conference champion even considered? These conference title games are playoff games...You lose you are out...My argument is every year the nonsensical talk of 2 SEC being in...Hell I ain't sold that they deserve 1 team in if Georgia gets beat...As far as the out of conference schedules are concerned that "crappy" team Penn State beat up gave Bama all they could handle and gave the game away...I will argue that the B1G is the best conference in the country followed by the Pac 12, then the Big 12 then the SEC then the ACC...
I think anyone trying to argue which conference is better at this point is a little bit out there... There's pretty much no way to tell other than other than someone's personal bias. That's why I am in favor of them expanding to this 12 playoff system that they've been talking about
Well you look at out of conference schedule between power 5 leagues...That sort of gives you an idea of how good these conferences are...The SEC was not very good this year...I remember the narrative of a few years back when they used a weak out of conference schedule as the battering ram to keep teams out...It's funny how the narrative changes to serve the sacred cows purposes...Miami, UAB, Mercer and New Mexico State...LOL...Georgia wasn't much better...LSU lost to UCLA, Auburn to Penn State, Mississippi State to Memphis...The games have to matter...I don't think the SEC is any good and based on their out of conference records they aren't...
