A 7-5 record should not earn a Jan 1st bowl IMO, maybe the Acme Day after Black Friday Cleanup Day Bowl on Nov. 27th, but if true, I will try to watch it if I can find it anywhere for free.

A win does absolutely NOTHING for this team this year or next!! The only thing a bowl game does is give the team some extra practice time and give Franklin more time to "try and establish the run game"! FFS already!!!
@navylion I disagree. I believe we need to get a win it’s good for Penn St football especially if the younger guys get in and gets some playing time. James Franklin and the football team need to get something going and beating an Arkansas team in a bowl game is a good start. 8-5 is better than 7-6

The Iowa game did it for me and i would’ve let him walk but they signed him up for 10 more years so we might as well get on board and hope we find a stud QB. like I said in another post and we can win regardless who the coach is if we have a stud QB. Brother I’m not feeding you kool Aid look no further than Dan and Gene you can win if you have a stud QB these 2 coaches prove it. James Franklin is better than these 2 coaches he just messed up with a few hires and it’s caught up with him.

Well that 10 year contract is really a contract for 2022 and he can and probably will try to hold Penn
State up for a raise in 2023 if he has a good year next year...The reason I say this is the buyout is only 4 million which is peanuts by todays standards...As far as the bowl goes it all depends on who plays and who sits it out...It certainly won't be as accurate of a barometer as a regular season game with meaning...I could see 8 or 9 guys from Penn State sitting this one out...What benefit is it to Dotson, Brisker et al to play?

You are more right than you know - Franklin snapped at Audrey in last press conference when she mentioned they didn't have a 100yd rusher all year .... and Franklin was so quick to point out ... The season isn't over yet!!!!! Was uttered like a petulant little kid. So yes, expect a run heavy attack on Jan 1, whether the secondary is on crutches or not ... run run run.
To me JF's contract has very low progressive buyouts so if things don't improve and they probably will not, he can be let go pretty easily. College football disgusts me anymore. Then why are you here? I have asked myself the same question. Venting frustration? Maybe. I have really backed off. This Saturday I will watch the best game in college football. Army-Navy. I'm a Navy vet and tho I figure Army will win I will be supporting all these fine young folks who march to a different drum. Literally. Yes even they are not what they once were but they have a much more admirable view of things than most of the rest .... individuals excluded.
