Back to Mcsorley, the dude was just a flat out baller in HS and that carried over to college. I watched him through high school, and he just had the, refuse to lose menatlity and made it happen. His high school numbers were off the chart, D5 Va high school, 3 star coming out. If it weren't for his natural talent and leadership, JF would have ruined him from the get go.

At this point I'm still fine with the QB and skill position guys. I know that is weird to say, but I do think if the OL was better Becht would be a lot better to. He doesn't have a run gane supporting him, and rarely gets time in the pocket otherwise. He's a good QB, but not good enough to overcome those deficiencies.
As for the defense.. the DL has been an unmitigated disaster. IMO no LB or other player was going to make up fir the lack of talent up front. Especially at DT.
Vack in January I was focused on the skill positions and completely missed on the lines. We really missed the portal on those

I know VT signed at least 4 of our guys today and we sign 1 more ISU guy and that means we’re killing it? At the beginning I understood signing the best players from ISU because we had a serious amount of vacancies but continuing to sign 2 and 3 star talent from a mediocre B12 team isn’t gonna cut it when we continue losing 4 and 5 star guys to the portal.
There are better players available than what we are signing and I’d like to know why we continue to lose top guys almost daily. I’m now with FD on this one, something just doesn’t seem right.
I feel the same today as I did back then. Something just isn't right with this program. Isi it the coach, AD, Fanbase or a combination of everything PSU football.

@psujoe I said in another post you can hide a lot of flaws if you have a few studs in certain positions. Our problem is we don’t any studs on the DL and it’s killing us on defense. Look how bad Oregon is losing their QB. You know I can’t stand Michigan but if they had a good QB they’d be a top 3 team. Their QB play was that bad but it is better today with the new kid they have.
Unfortunately my worst fears are coming to pass...I am very doubtful this guy is the guy to get us over the hump...It makes me sick to my stomach to say it but is this better than what Franklin was doing? Say what you want about Franklin but he had the knack for bringing in talented players...
@the-funeral-director we gotta give the man at least 2 years recruiting and using the portal to see how he does. I also want to see this team play on offense when Koby Howard comes back just to see if a treat of 2 WR’s makes a big difference in the offense. The teams we’ve already played Michigan is the only one with a defense worth a shit, maybe Wisconsin has an okay defense. Ain’t shit gone right since the man got here let’s see how we finish the season.
I am sure he will get 2 years...I haven't seen anything from this guy to this point that gives me any indication that year 2 is going to be any different from year 1...I can tell you this much...I don't see this team beating Purdue on Saturday and I don't see them getting enough wins to be bowl eligible...I see a win against Maryland and I am doubtful they can even beat Rutgers...The talent just isn't there and I don't see this guy being able to get this turned around...I hope I am wrong but his judgement doesn't seem very sound to me...
@the-funeral-director I’m talking about 2 more years after this year because he did lose a whole recruiting class and I heard that James Franklins people at Penn St did some shady shit when James Franklin was fired. They should’ve fired everybody that had personal connections with James Franklin that could sway recruits or portal players. I’ve learned a few more things the last week and it looks like MC was handed a shit sandwich and he’s doing his best to get this thing back on track. Penn St screwed that up if it’s true which I believe it is. Has anybody else heard about this with James Franklin people that was still on staff after he was fired? He had a staff of around 75 people if I heard everything correctly and they should’ve been fired with James Franklin because that’s who these people are loyal to.
All I will say is we are going to find out...Let me just say that from what I have seen I am not impressed and I don't see it getting any better...I hope I am wrong...I am just telling you what I am seeing...I don't have a lot of confidence in this guy...Again I hope I am wrong...
What I should’ve said is the staff from JF that was left behind after he was fired employed by Penn St wasn’t working for what was best for Penn St because their loyalty was with James Franklin. The ghetto comes out of me sometimes if I get excited 😂
I understand completely FD because we do have a boat load of Iowa St players. Dang I really thought it would work and I was wrong. Smh

MC will show his worth or not next year. He has to portal a O and D line with depth and then meld those guys into a unit. That takes a different type of skill than recruiting HS guys and taking 3 years to build, yeah he still has to recruit HS but the portal is his life line at this point, and we will see if he can evaluate talent, get talent in place and then bring it together. I'd say he has next year and if it's a bomb he's gone one way or the other, if not, he is exactly who they want in place and where they want to be on the totem pole playing the guaranteed money game from the conference going forward and no other expectations except an oddball year here and there.

I don't know about that...Purdue is 2-2 in the conference and in the middle of the pack...They beat Minnesota and they beat Illinois...The lost to Washington by 12 in their building...I know the game is in our building but I wouldn't be so confident...I honestly think they beat us...Koby is a great player but I don't think he is 14 pts per game great...We are all going to find out Saturday...
