1. Offense is really good. Little things here and there to clean up, but they are better this year IMO than the previous 2 years. OLine and running game is now a strength, and the passing game will be there when we need it.
2. Defensive line will get better as the year goes, but they need to generate more pressure. In the running game I think they have done a decent job, our LBs are more the issue there. The secondary will be fine, not worried about them as long as we can start to generate a good pass rush.
3. LBs are the big issue we have. Either old but inexperienced, or young and inexperienced. I say play the younger more talented guys and let them learn, since they are on par with the older guys already.
4. Our season will go as our LBs go. If they get better, we will be damn good.
5. Our season will go as our LBs go. If they don't get better, we will have to outscore the better opponents.
6. Our LBs need to get better.
7. Our LBs need to get better.
8. Did I say our season hinges on our LBs getting better?
9. If we want a great season, our LBs need to quickly remind us why we are named Linebacker U.
10. Lastly, our LBs need to step up for us to have a great season. Just in case you weren't clear on that.
Everything you state is true but I would like to add they need to start tackling...I have never seen so many missed tackles from a Penn State team....I would also like to add discipline as well...Too many bad penalties...This staff has a lot of work to do this week and this team has a lot of work to do as well...There is a lot to clean up...The one positive out of all of this is the talent...For the first time in a very long time Penn State will not take a back seat to Ohio State from an athletic and speed standpoint...We are every bit as athletic and fast as Ohio State is and we are as deep as they are as well...I still believe McSorley will be the difference and I believe Penn State will win this ballgame...
If our LBs play well, we will be OSU.
It’s hard to fix youth so it might be next year before our LBers dominate but I think they’ll get better every game. It’s the penalties that we can fix now, we have to play smarter and not do stupid penalties. I believe James Franklin will clean up the penalties.
tOSUwill be favored and should be. But, next Saturday is a game that we can win.
But TCU lost to Texas lol
Kids playing a game. That’s what’s it’s about.
My thoughts: first of all FRIDAYS ARE FOR HS! Ok. Not psu fault. Season thoughts: in every game but APPY (scored over 70 today). they’ve toyed around with formations and personnel a bunch in the first half. In the second half they stepped on the gas. Don’t expect to see the same toying on Saturday. Yes the D needs to get stronger BUT tOsu has not seen the skill and speed they will this week. Psu can win but the receivers have to catch the ball. Period.
Thanks Bill, I am wondering if we are going to see a lot less rotation of players next week too.
It only makes sense. Watched OSU today and they didn’t seem to be doing that so much. Also keeps guys fresh going into the stretch
Kind of surprised at McSorely's stats thru the first four games this year compared to last season. Some of it is a reflection of the number of dropped balls.

Catching and tackling are significant. Mental focus will be the line between winning and defeat.
