Basically a mental drain and reality has set in; this team is not good, coaching is out to lunch, should have been on par with Cignetti, Stein, and Chesney, Rocca should take a seat so Manske can get some experience, RB room apparently sucks when #s 1 and 2 haven't been figured out, how the hell Kobe didn't play more last year is a head scratcher and gotta hope he doesn't portal out, O and D line still a concern after 10 years, hope and looking forward to next year has been a poor strategy when neither is a strategy....All said tongue in cheek.
Winning solves problems in sports and we need a win bad. the season ain’t over beating Michigan Saturday will ease the sports pain all of us are feeling. Y’all know I’ve always thought the big 12 was garbage but I didn’t think it was this bad and the big 12 did put out some good QB’s. Man I couldn’t have been more wrong about this year. I figured getting their top 20 players would work especially how good Rocco was playing throwing for 10k yards. I’m all for giving the backup QB snaps just to see but I’ve seen enough of Manske to know Rocco gives us a better chance to win that dudes needs some work and I’m not ready to throw away the season when we can still win 10 games. Ga Tech was 1-3 and knocked off Duke and the whole mood about Tech changed for the better hopefully we can get Michigan and get Penn St rolling in the right direction. Personally I would love to know 100% whose idea it was to let Amari Cambell walk over a million dollars. This dude was a stud and having Amari and Rojas running around on the defense would have this team probably undefeated right now I don’t care what anybody says. Still wouldn’t be good up front but when you have 2 future NFL LB’s running around you can hide a shit pot full flaws just like with a QB. He would be a difference maker In stopping the wing-t for sure and he would damn be good enough to beat that shity QB from Wisconsin. That was a total absolute total fudge up! It was the same person who made the decision to ignore the better players available in the portal and bring in 24 mediocre players from ISU instead. I don't recall more than 2 or 3 players from Iowa State visiting Penn State that didn't get signed and one was probably their best player available (that CB playing for USC).
We need new DC's and OC's.....they are terrible. Just terrible. We have good players, the play calling/decision making is bad. USC backed up to their own 10 yard line, up by 8 points and we call a time out because USC still had their offense on the field??? No way were they EVER going to go for it on 4th and 5....lol.
And the trick plays! Why? They haven't made one work yet! Do you know who does trick plays? Desperate teams and Penn State is now one of them. I don't blame the players at all for the 0-3 start in Big 10 play. Yes, losing our best WR and DE pass rusher hurts, but better OC/DC would have adjusted too that.
I played Jr High football and then stopped. Never coached football a day in my life. If I was the PSU OC and DC today, we would be 5-1 and worse! lol.
Oh well - hopefully we can beat a bad Michigan team on the road and get something going!

Blah blah blah... I'm sick and tired of hearing how all the coaches we bring in suck, even though they were highly successful individuals somewhere else. Somehow they always seem to forget how to coach when they get here...

Our lines suck, Kraft screwed the pooch and set any coach up with crap players on the lines that we couldn't get portal players to come in plug. WTF does everyone think happens when almost half your damn roster leaves? That it's easy to go find people in the portal?
Have some effing perspective. Matt Campbell brought 30+ Iowa State players because HE HAD TO. He came into a situation where the HC search became a laughing stock keeping players away, lost half the roster to portal and graduation, and had to try and replenish those numbers through a portal that was open before he even had an entire staff hired.
Yet people are like "he should have brought better players" like it's somehow his choice to let kids leave or have them come.

Both defenses stunk the other night and both defenses has one thing in common and you know exactly what that is. If the front 3 ain’t getting it done for gods sakes give them some help you ain’t stopping the pass anyway what have we got to lose? He took over the wost defense in P4 football at USC and immediately made them worlds better. Went from 126 to 50 in his first year.

The USC QB is very good but as bad as we was the other night I can’t let that slide and getting tore up by the Wisconsin garbage QB is unacceptable and giving up 410 to NW on the ground and you know they running every play is grounds for dismissal after the game. I believe in fixing things before things really go to shit. Don’t let things go to pure shit before you make a change baby.

I think the person clueless is you. Obviously we are not watching the same games. I don't care how many players left or didn't come to PSU. All you have to do is listen to people who know how to play the game and they are all saying the same thing about the OC/DC.....NOT the HC. I am fine with MC, he is young and will find his way.
As for good players. Maybe we don't have the talent to beat Ohio State or ND, but we surely had the talent to beat Wisconsin, NW and USC this year. Favored in all three games and and lost all three games.....two by double digits when favored by double digits. Last year was the same thing.....0-3 to start when favored to win in all three games. And we are talking 4 of them at HOME!
Penn State BCR.....29% ( down from 65% last year ). However, nationally, Penn State still ranks in the top 25 BCR at #21. So we have some pretty good players at PSU.

Say what you want, but there is enough talent sitting at PSU to be 6-0 at the moment. Especially when you have the most experienced QB in the country.
I am not even going to entertain any more of your nonsense. How did the last coach fair out vs Top Ranked teams during his tenure at PSU? BOB took over a completely torn apart PSU team in 2012, more so than MC, and do you know, he was ahead in EVERY GAME his first year, went 6-2 in the Big10 with a win over a ranked team. So it is possible to win games with a light roster....19% BCR to be exact in 2012. So yes, we can criticize the coaching at PSU from time to time.
Like I said, you just can't replace Joe Paterno....the MAN with a 39% BCR all time average at Penn State! That's coaching up players and making the right play calls!

I think folks need to drop the "most expereinced QB in college football", and have some extraordinary expectation of him. It doesn't matter, he played in a different conference, style of play, level of competion, and so on.
He's 31-48 as a starter. Before PSU he was 28-45 as a starter.

The rest are fatties ... Cooper Ebel is AWFUL. Becht is not the issue, nor is Sorrell, or Rappleyea, or Peoples ... the big liability on the offense is the left side of the line. It's been very disappointing. The coaches with better players usually win ... we don't have good players in the D front 7. PERIOD. Gonna be a long season.
