I just watched parts of the live broadcast and noticed he couldn’t be heard but being there in person makes you realize the guy is terrible. He never once even announced who ran the ball or made a play for WV he would instead announce who made the tackle for PSU and all he says after a play would be over is “Robinson”.

Also, I know this also couldn’t be heard on the live broadcast but do we really need to blare music and have a sing along in between plays and  during every timeout and commercial stoppage? Blaring music right up to the point that the opposing team snaps the ball almost seems unsportsmanlike to me and it also takes away from the effect of the crowd.

Yeah, between every play is absolutely rubbage and it's not even good music.  It's so freaking annoying.  I want to know who the mastermind who engineered that. How was your subie on the drive up?

Time for the old fogie to chime in.  I don't think piped in music should be allowed at a college game.  None at all, zilch, nada, noway.  Give the school band the opportunity to play.  I don't remember when this sheet started, but I can remember back when the band(s) were the sole source of music between plays.  Leave the piped in music for the NFL (oh I forgot, we're NFL lite now).

I haven’t gone to an away game in years and the last college football game I attended in another teams stadium was the Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville but don’t remember them blaring music through the stadiums speakers to try to make it difficult for the other team like we do at Beaver Stadium. I wonder how many other teams actually do that. I heard a couple WV fans talking about it and they were saying it’s so loud you can’t even hear the crowd.

I agree , it should be school bands and crowd noise. The blue band hardly even played during the game !

Speaking of the NFL I go to at least one Tampa home game a year and they don’t do any piped in music like we do.

I'm in the middle... during play stoppages like timeouts, between quarters, and other things I'm all for music from the PA. However, year during the play is rubbish. I get it if the team is in a huddle, but once they break it that stuff should cut off. The band should be playing during actual gameplay.

I'm with ya. If ya have to play "music" at least drop the decibels enough, that you can converse with your next seat neighbor, w/o have to SCREAM at them.

Now, get off my frickin' grass!

The recently hired new PA announcer was out with COVID this week. The person this week that did it was a last minute fill in. I think the new guy also does the PSU Hockey games.
