I have another question about that overturned TD. Why on earth, or in Heaven for that matter, was that ball spotted at the one-foot line instead of the one-inch line? I know, I know, it doesn't really matter because Penn State doesn't run any under center packages but still... We got screwed twice on that play plain and simple.

Try to make a story to justify it.
1) They have this little screen to look at, there was glare on the screen.
2) They showed him yyhe wrong play
3) mistook the hand down for an elbow
4) looked like the left knee touched before the right knee.
5) PSU shouldn't be playing/winning
It had to be indisputable? What is the process? O'Neil under the curtain on the sideline monitor only?
I know NFL officials can be fined and/or suspended for lousy calls like that. Is it the same for NCAA??? Will this guy just walk, no scrutiny at all?? I don't know but would love to find out. Too many instances of this crap when he officiates a PSU Game. I've seen the petition going around, but what "REALLY" can be done?
The fact that this idiot is still allowed to ref games for Penn State is a crime.
I think the picture above is not completely accurate. My brother is a techie and has all the photo/video toys. He is also a big PSU fan. He said when he isolated the frames, the knee hit the turf before the ball broke the plane. But he said that the equipment used by the NCAA would be incapable of having the clarity needed to produce irrefutable evidence to overturn the call on the field.
Considering holding can be called on almost every play, the timing of those calls against PSU is more troubling than the touchdown being reversed.
I think the picture above is a photoshop job. Where is the helmet?
The overturned TD was only one instance. The play on 4th and 2 where Stanley fumbled the snap, the ball rolled BACK between his legs while Stanley surged forward into the line. The replay CLEARLY shows the ball between his lower legs and an Iowa lineman covering the ball..... Result?? 1st down. The very next play was was Iowa's only TD and that could have been called OPI. I always thought that when the ball was in the air, both receiver and defender had an equal opportunity to catch the ball. If that had been a defender going over the top of a receiver, it would have been called DPI every day of the week. Windsor was being held on darn near every play and Iowa was never called for that.
I think the picture above is a photoshop job. Where is the helmet?
He'd forget his head if it wasn't attached 😂
I have a feeling that was the last game Mr. O'Neill will ever ref that Penn State is playing in.. Just a gut feeling his days reffing Penn State games are through...
It’s likely that O’Neill will not want to officiate PSU again.
Words have meaning, 'irrefutable' has meaning and any video I see when i stop the video it is not only irrefutable, I'd have to estimated the ball is beyond the lead edge of the line. The difficult part to see is when the knee touches the grass and best you can estimate it is just before the grass is compressed.
It remains a bad call and the whole sequence might make some people wonder if somebody was working the spread.
Not only did we win but we covered, take that 👍
