Just for recruiting shouldn’t we play Rutgers and Maryland every year. I thought this was the reason the big 10 put these 2 teams in if I remember correctly. You notice Michigan and Ohio St get to play every year which is an advantage for both teams.

As it stands, Penn State playing Rutgers or Maryland doesn't matter all that much. There's zero history, which is a shame because it would be pretty cool if that Rutgers matchup became a rivalry... especially since RU is the birthplace of college football.
To me the whole thing is a farce...You have a team with 1 loss ranked ahead of 4 unbeaten teams...You have a pile of 1 loss teams ranked ahead of 3 other unbeaten teams...It's clear the games don't matter and it is all a beauty pageant...Lets be clear this is a way to control the playoffs and who travels on the road and who gets to play at home...This has nothing to do with competition...
