Someone got on me a while back about using a poor example of a lost recruit. I must have picked the only poor example out of the vast number of examples. Look at this link. This is just the top 25 and there are a lot more. We got some high stars but not like some of these schools. See where they went and more importantly where they came from. Success breeds success. We delude ourselves if we think we are going to the CFP without recruits like this. Who is there every year? Sure we have been close but never in it. Close counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. No doubt we try hard but these young folks have different standards. NFL now. I see the argument that ...well .... did we even offer to them? To me that's like saying it doesn't count because we did not offer. How many of you really think you could line up a date with Taylor Swift ? Oh if you did not ask her it does not count. We are losing the recruiting battle. Coaching ? Development? Success level?

That was me. I didn’t say you were wrong. Just that PSU didn’t even pursue Trotter. However, there are a boatload of other HS players in PA that PSU missed out on. Rucci was a major miss.
