I think it was apple news where I read he might not play in the playoffs if the parents of the players can’t come to one of the games. I agree with him the parents should be able to go to the games that wouldn’t be enough people to cause a problem. Man my son and daughter-in-law both have the virus. My daughter-in-law felt a little under the weather but my son got pretty sick with a high fever but both will be just fine. Man I’ll be glad when all this crap is over. People are gettin vaccinated now hopefully soon we’ll get back to normal. I don’t know about y’all but I’m going to take the shot when it’s my time I believe the scientist and doctors know what they’re doing. Dr Fauci says it’s safe so that’s enough for me. We need to take care of the elderly first then our front line workers. I’ll go last but I do want the shot. Ain’t no virus going to take down ole southern baby but why take a chance lol

Well then maybe they should keep them out and invite Coastal Carolina instead. What an awesome semifinal CC vs Bama would be!

Brian Kelly is full of hot air and likes to hear himself talk. Call his bluff. There isn’t any way he (nor the ND AD) will turn down the playoffs and the payout it gives. Money talks even more than blabber mouth Kelly. I agree that the parents of the players should be allowed to attend, but I guess he forgets that ND football got shut down because of this virus.

It’s a nasty virus Southern, speaking from experience. No two people are affected exactly the same. I hope your son and daughter-in-law recover fully with no lasting effects. Someone extremely close to me has lingering effects 7 months after contracting the virus taking care of COVID patients. The situation with this virus in this country right now is worse than the spring. Stay safe. Respect the virus.

I hope the best for your son and daughter in law!!! I have been in close contact with one of my best friends this week, he has a BAD case of it.  Oxygen level dropped below 68.....didn't even know that was possible - 52 years old and was in great shape.  Finally spoke to him live yesterday and he sounded like he is getting better, getting out of the woods and hopes to be home by Christmas.

YOU ALL BE SAFE OUT THERE! My buddy said his doc is stressing WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN as much as wearing a mask.  And one more piece of info.....I have 4 close friends and a mother in law who all have had it now......blood type is A positive.

Kelly fears the playoffs like the rest of us fear the virus.  He doesn't want to get embarrassed!  Hope your son & daughter-in-law feel better and you and the rest of your family keep safe.  Go PSU!  Winning ugly is much better than losing, lol.

Whether you hate or love ND, gotta give'em credit for the schedule they play year in and year out. IMO they don't play a typical bullshit schedule like a lot of other top ranked teams. As a recruit who wouldn't like playing USC, Stanford, Navy etc. Now as far joining a conference goes, yeah I'd like to see'em in the Big10, it makes the most sense but flip teams and I'd also rather see PSU playing a USC, Bama, FSU, Texas, OK, WA,etc even Navy than some of the Big10 teams like Rutgers, Illi, Minn, ect.

I’ll give ya USC but I’m not sold on Stanford or navy. There’s a reason ND won’t get in the big 10. They know it will hurt them in recruiting just like it did Penn State. If Penn State wasn’t in the big 10 Ohio St wouldn’t recruit Pennsylvania as good. Ohio St was only average before Penn St joined and ain’t done chit in 20 years. Penn St helped Ohio St recruit the NE better by joining the conference.

Kelly isn't going to pull his team out of the playoffs. Seriously, what would the playoffs be without ND taking their yearly a$$-beating??

I respectfully disagree. Their schedule is overrated. Stanford and USC have been down for several years. ND always plays a service academy or two. While I have a ton of respect for the students at the service academies, they aren’t really a tough matchup with top 15 college football programs. On top of that, despite their quasi  ACC schedule, they seem to skip Clemson most years and get Wake Forest, Duke, NC State, etc. Then they fill in the holes the last few years with Ball State, Nevada, etc. Their strength of schedule last year was, by far, the weakest of the playoff teams and it was even close. It was really really poor.

@lionbacker99 We just buried one of my very close Navy Buddies because of the virus. Hearing what he went through before he passed, your right it is no joke!

Southern, I hope your son and daughter in law take it seriously!! Hope they get well soon!

I’m really sorry to hear this Navy. This virus is sinister and it doesn’t care who you are. A few hospitals in our area are being overwhelmed right now. Rumor is one ran out of ventilators at one point. The Moderna vaccine was approved yesterday, so it will be rolled out ASAP to supplement the Pfizer vaccine that is already in distribution. While the total number of vaccine doses currently in the U.S. will not initially be enough to cover the entire population, this will be a huge step at getting us back to normal. I’m hoping the process goes well and those that have the opportunity to get the vaccine will do it. My wife and I got ours this morning. 2nd dose will be in 3 weeks for us. Take care of yourself and, again, my condolences.
