With wife and kids I'm direct and honest. I expect them to be direct and honest... That comes in many different ways.
So no I have never called my wife stupid or reckless but she has yet to be.
At work I'm direct and honest I say what I feel and we move on. My boss will come to me for my opinion good bad because he can get a direct honest answer.
Yes I talked and talk that way, I'm good at what I do and respected for it.

You're absolutely correct, Lake. I worked in HR & also Labor Relations the last 17 years before my retirement and had to have the talk many times, mostly with management personnel. Nothing wrong with being honest and direct. It's not really what you say, but how you say it.
I would assume many workplaces would have an issue if an employee told another employee from the South to get over the civil war, or that they think the Southerner doesn't like Yankees.
In jest maybe, but seriously stating that or generalizing Southern people in that way would probably result in a trip to HR as well.

Oh I don't doubt you are really good at your work. For that matter and what I've stated, your Penn State football content is really good too. I'm very sure your wife and kids are super cool too. That said, you could provide the same respect on this forum as you do at home. BTW, let's be realistic. I highly doubt that if in work dispute you called your boss stupid or reckless ( in those terms ) you would be employed at the same place...unless your boss is your brother on law or something like that.

Probably right about that roam though I don't ever recall heated civil war conversation coming up in the work place. My thoughts are about what is appropriate here in the nitsoftheroundtable forum. Disputes are great, unnecessary harsh retorts not so much.

If you read my comments I never said sky was stupid... His comment was, smart wise people are not immune to it. I have no clue about him personally, I commented on his comment.
I've never called a boss stupid but I have had to point out and speak to a stupid idea and say as much etc. I have a mutual respect and no I still have the same job and in no way close to losing it over how I talk. Being realistic about like I said I'm respected for my straight forward approach.

Words are important. Your comment was "To even post such BS is stupid and reckless." (reference your first response to Sky on this thread). There are direct and indirect insults, yours could be considered indirect but (IMHO) was clearly direct.
Here is my point, this is a good place where we respect each other whether or not we agree with their comments. I enjoy your football acumen, you may consider measuring the rest.

I dont think he was ever a great fit. Smart, innovative, successful at PSU/Fordham, and a good guy. He is not a very dynamic guy, lacked coaching experience in the South, team was said to have had numerous discipline issues not made public, and he lacked the mettle to make MSU an elite program or a 9-3 or 10-2 program. Not sure many coaches can get 9-10 wins each year at MSU.

Mississippi State is a 6-6 team unless they have a NFL QB which won’t happen often IMO. They have unrealistic expectations if they think they’re 9 or more wins every year. Tennessee gets better players and they struggle to get to 10 wins. CC we had a great year finishing 11-2 cotton Bowl champs and we should be better next year we just need to find a way to get that 1 more win hopefully the coaching changes get it. I’m looking forward to the spring game to see how we look.

It will be hard for Mississippi State to ever rise to the SEC elite without the facilities of the others and recruiting power. They remind me of Iowa State in the Big 12, always a threat but never a contender.

Did y’all see where Vanderbilt hired Ted Roof for their DC position? IMO he did a pretty good job at Penn State. His hands were tied at Ga Tech because we couldn’t get good defensive talent because of the triple opinion Paul Johnson ran. I’ve heard a few times where he was asked about the culture at a Penn State and every time he put the person asking in their place and said Penn State was a great place. They were trying to bait him but he didn’t fall for it. I believe he’ll do good at Vanderbilt. Figured I’d put it here instead of taking up Room on a new add comment lol
Thanks Bob, happy new year. I've said enough about the other thing. I will say that 16 knows a heck of a lot more about X's and O's than I do and his football content is appreciated.
Where does everybody think Moorehead's next stop is? I think his skill set is highly valuable, wether or not that will be in as a head coach at a major D1 school is questionable.
