As I predicted, not much love was shown to the guy that lived in the Bronx for 8 years. For some in the Deep South, the wounds of losing to the North, still fester.

WOW just WOW.
He as not fired because he was from the north. To even post such BS is stupid and reckless.
So much for respect

Nitlion2016...you may be right or you maybe wrong but the language and tone of your response is unnecessary.

My language and tone are spot on for such a stupid, narrow-minded OP... The fact that you would defend such BS is telling.

Agree, my thoughts exactly when I read the OP

Really? Well do tell.
No need you did it yourself.
I'll say it again JoMo was not fired for being a northerner.
Please keep defending the uneducated OP.

So actually I don't think that I did that myself, I was just waiting for you to clarify.
So before this becomes full out war, let me say this. Your football acumen is great and I really like reading it. Your often (but not always) terse style and choice of words such as the indirect insult of "stupid" and "reckless" isn't necessary to express your opinions.
It appears you've been on this forum for 8 months or so. This forum was created by Cave when the old Penn live forum ceased to exist and in the while, became a shit show. For the most part, contributors on this forum are friends that respect each other's opinions without name calling. Sure there are antagonists that get run off and deservedly so, but for the most part we can share opinions with respect. I for one don't think Sky is an antagonist and rarely do I share his opinions but he is entitled to them.
I'm not asking you to not share your opinion went you don't agree, just asking to tone the language down. But please do continue your very good football insight because that is a good read.
Amen Lake. As Aretha sang....R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
Clearly some of you have never lived in the Deep South. There are many pockets of northern intrusion like the retirement communities in North Carolina or the upscale academic centers that would be considered cosmopolitan. I spent 2 years in Mississippi and even today it’s a different world there. I was always called the guy from Brooklyn. Moorhead tried to fit in and it didn’t work. He even made reference to his background after the Egg Bowl, “Yankee Ass.”
Regardless, pleased that my post initiated some interesting discussion. I do continue to be surprised by the vitriolic reaction of some. Please, don’t lose any sleep by anything you read on this or any other forum.
Unless you factual proof of this being the reason it was stupid and reckless comment.
If some can't stomach simple words I can't help that.
I live in South Alabama and have yet to meet a person that gives a rats a$$ where a coach or person is from. And I'm from South West Pa.
Some of the nicest people I’ve ever run across are people from NY and NJ. Why do these 2 states have a bad reputation because all that I’ve met are good people?
Likely because you project a sincere positive attitude and are as nice as you post. Pretty hard not to like you back southern.

North Carolina is not the deep south. Just sayin'

Mississippi State's previous coach Dan Mullen (who they desperately want back) grew up in New Hampshire and went to college in Pennsylvania. He also spent much of his coaching career in the Northeast at places like Wagner and Columbia.
Please explain how you come to the conclusion that they don't want Moorhead because he is a Yankee, yet the guy they consider to be arguably their best coach ever was also a Yankee.
A lot of the great football coaches ever are from the north east that’s just the facts.
Apparently it's because they are still worked up over the civil war...
You can hate me you can love me but I will always be honest and direct. I'm not into PC but you will always know where you stand.
I never said I don't respect anyone I was just honest and I don't worry about the people that can't except that.
Maybe they just wanted more wins ??? Gonna go out on a limb with this opinion!

That sounds like a logical opinion... One that makes sense.

So a fair question for a fair answer: I think I read where you are a civil engineer and succssfulyy married for 26 years. Do you talk to your co workers/ managers/ wife in the same tough tone where as you want to be "honest and direct" using the same language as you do here anonyomously? I've been married 35 years and I've never told her, directly or indirectly that she was stupid or reckless. Not that I ever would but if I did that where I worked, HR would have the talk with me.
