Jury is still out. Against Michigan and Ohio State, he was not a factor.
Singleton looked like he has learned to take what the D gives him and stopped trying to bounce every run outside but Allen is better IMO and should be playing 4 full quarters. I’d love to see Allen get 25 touches per game.

I agree but it would be nice if Allen had the afterburner that Singleton has.
IMO, Singleton transfers if he is not named starter toward end of year or after Spring ball.
@psu61 Why is our ecpectation for every kid that they will leave if they dont start?
I believe Singleton will get enough snaps not to transfer. He’s going to get 40% of the snaps unless he turns out not to be as good as we thought. Most teams use 2 RB’s now

Roam, its just that day and time. Kid like Singleton (Gatorade POTY) comes in under the impression (told or not) that he is the man or will be and doesn't get enough carries and starts thinking about all those other offers he had and thinks, I still got time and gotta go.
I've come to an age that I can see why some of these kids jump, and they need to in some cases to give themselves the best opportunity. Its not gonna work out every time but at least the kid didn't accept sitting behind someone else and looks for greener fields and opportunity; and then can't say 4 years later that he never had a chance. Good on the kid who believes in himself enough to move on as I'd imagine it is not an easy decision a lot of the time.
Singleton isn't going anywhere. Penn State needs both of these guys and they are not stupid enough to let him (Singleton) enter the portal. He will get a lot of touches the rest of this season and he will probably have at least two more games over 100 yards coming up.
Most eventually do, lol.
No, they don't. 25 kids per signing class, 100 kids on the team, only 22 starters, and plenty of kids staying to grind and get better. I think the most I've seen a program lose is Auburn from their 2021 class, which was 8 or 9, and that's because the coach left and the replacement search was a clown show.
Cmon Roam, you know what I mean, it's not the average kid who signs, it's the prima donna high profile position players (e.g. QB, RB, etc) I'm talking about. In general, the more stars a kid has, the more likely he is to portal if things don't go his way.

Yeah I get you, but I don't think they are primadonna's just because they are 4 or 5 stars. We've got plenty of 4 star players on our team that haven't seen the field yet, so I just don't agree with you that "most do"

Regardless of how much or little it takes, your intimate knowledge of college football is amazing. Now if you are handy around the house, you may be a Renaissance man Roam!
