Punter Jordon Stout, wide receiver Jahan Dotson, safety Jaquan Brisker, cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields, linebacker-end Jesse Luketa and defensive lineman Arnold Ebiketie have been invited and accepted the invitation to play in the Senior Bowl. I assume this means they're gonzo & won't be back with us next year.
Ya know Bob, in these days of opting to sit out a bowl game, I don't quite understand why a player would play in the Senior bowl, other than to boost your draft stock. Most of these PSU guys don't seem to need it.
I always thought playing in the Senior Bowl was an important addition to a players resume when it came to the NFL draft. Kind of like an audition of sorts. I don't know if that's still true in this day and age though. The question I have is: Can a guy accept the invitation and play in the Senior Bowl and then decide to return to play in college (assuming he has remaining eligibility)??
@rip I'm thinking just about anything is worth a try these days. Let chaos reign!

I seriously doubt it, considering that the game is coached by entire NFL coaching staffs. Plus, I believe they are paid to play.
@roaminglion Never realized they got paid. But hey! If professionals can be in the Olympics, why not stretch it for college ball?
@rip I believe Brisker accepted an invitation last year and later decided to stay. The players are payed so they cannot play in the game then return I believe. Pro scouts are at these practices all week so it is kind of an audition for the players.
That would make sense in the past, but know they can take NIL money, so what's the dif?

Because NIL money is from advertising and other things... not for playing.
Devil's advocate here - Money is money....getting paid is getting paid!
The difference is one is directly paying you to play, the other is just you making money off of your name, image, or likeness. NIL money, while in many cases could absolutely be tied to football, in other cases could be someone's TikTok, could be a skier making money off advertising, or some other things based off their popularity and not necessarily their football skill.
