The case is far from over. The case will now go back to the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, which is scheduled to hear oral arguments in the case tomorrow. I believe a president can make executive order, however DOJ, Supreme Court always has a hand in the cookie jar. Read up on the Constitution and get some more knowledge before flapping your lips. Also you need to remember this loan forgiveness isn't out of the blue, it's the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program... these people were promised loan forgiveness when they took out the loans, it was promised that after 10 years of payments in a specific loan program that the debt would be forgiven if the went into public service. The Government failed to honor the forgiveness, this is making up for it.
This isn't just giving random students $10,000 like he tried to do last year.
