Just curious... does anyone know if there is any kind of listing or ranking for recruiting budgets?  Does the NCAA or individual conferences set any limits?

I don't believe there's any limit to how much a schools can spend, but I'm pretty sure that Ohio state is number one in recruiting budget. also, from what I remember it wasn't even close. Ohio State spends a tremendous amount of money on their sports program, they're number one in athletic spending

Thanks Roam.  It just seems like this is something that would be regulated by the NCAA.  They limit the size of coaching staffs, number of scholarships, etc.  I'm not saying it should be regulated.  I guess I'm just surprised it isn't.  Oh well, the rich get richer, LOL.

Just FYI...

As athletics budgets go, Penn State sits at fith in the Big Ten when it comes to spending:

1. Ohio State: $113 million per year
2. Michigan: $95 million per year
3. Wisconsin: $93 million per year
4. Iowa: $88 million per year
5. Penn State: $84 million per year

I was actually a bit shocked when I saw those numbers, and had no idea that Wisconsin and Iowa had a bigger budget than we did. I honestly thought we'd be #3. Overall, Texas is #1 in the NCAA spending $125 million per year, Ohio State is 2nd in the NCAA. We are #13
