Penn State recruiting: TE Luke Reynolds commits to Nittany Lions’ 2024 class
more good news baby
here ya go SPF
Monday afternoon Penn State hosted arguably their top 2024 target to campus when Pittsburgh area running back Quinton Martin made it to campus.
Martin is the top prospect in Pennsylvania for the 2024 cycle. He has visited Penn State more than any other school. In fact, he has twice as many visits to Penn State as he does anywhere else.
That said, the Nittany Lions are in a dogfight with Pitt and Ohio State for the Belle Vernon superstar. NIL will likely be a key factor in his recruitment, which could help Pitt being a bigger player here than you may expect.
Man I hope we get this kid BT. He’ll probably be the man in 2 years.
Penn State picks up commitment from 2025 New Jersey standout Omari Gaines
More good news
Penn State picked up a player from the transfer portal. Well, sort of.
Penn State defensive lineman Davon Townley, who entered the portal last month, will return to Happy Valley for the 2023 season, according to a report from 247 Sports.
More good news baby ????
I don't want to be a Danny Downer, but I'll save my excitement for when I see them in our uniform, lol.
Bubble, bubble, toil & trouble........gone are the days when a man's commitment meant something!
@rip Well you aren't really talking about men. These folks are just talented boys, well maybe young men. The men you should be talking about are the coaches that repeatedly lie to these young men. I remember the last 10 or 15 years of Joe, when coaches kept saying he wouldn't be there when the players graduated. Funny thing is Joe outlasted many of those same coaches.
Ok, that is my saying I came up with on my own....too similar!! Somebody told me years ago to go to bed because it was 2:00 am I was still emailing. I came right back with " you have to work while your competitors are sleeping!". Although, I do like his twist on it too! LOL
GO STATE!!
Allegiance is a thing a of the past! Its all about me and the almighty dollar. That is the world we live in....good or bad.
And you know what else? Any of these college kids that are on scholarships and getting paid too, need to give back their scholarship money as far as I am concerned. You have kids filling out financial aid forms and once the school sees how much they get, they adjust the scholarship funding accordingly. And correct me if I am wrong, they get to keep the money they earn and STILL reap the financial aid and scholarship money. Something is really wrong here....unless I am!
Go $tate!!
Will it be a bubble that will bust one day? This is way over my head but I trust what you guys think. I use to be for paying kids a little spending money but now I just don’t know. I’m beginning to think I’m going to draw a hard line, play for a scholarship or go do something else? ????
Congress and state legislatures are to blame for a lot of this. They passed laws to enable NIL and sat on their a$$e$ when they saw what it created.
They just wanted votes and thought it was the topic du jour to make a statement. Pretty much went against creating some common sense laws to put in guard rails and instead picked the easy way out and just said yes to anything and everything.
I really think this is why the new NCAA president is a former politician. They will lobby hard for some laws to be passed at the national level so they can control NIL
What can I say? In my mind, call it NIL or whatever you want, what it boils down to is pay for play. Once you have pay for play, it's no longer amateur athletics. Throw in the transfer portal and you have free agency. With pay for play & free agency, you have NFL/NBA lite, so what the heck do you need the NCAA for?

1. Kids should be allowed to make money outside of college sports if they want, in amateur sports across the country people have jobs they make money at too. They way it's set up is wrong, but the idea is sound.
2. Kids should also be allowed to transfer to any school they like, again all amateur sports have this. People can pick up and leave to go to any time they want, because they aren't bound by contract. This is actually opposite of the NBA, where players are bound to a team for the term of their contract. Ironically, that's the way college used to work, so this way is in some respects more like amateur sports than it was before.
Appreciate your take, Roam. I still think if you take a look at what's going on in collegiate athletics today, primarily FB & BB, it sure as heck looks professional to me, lol.
